Pablo’s Steaks and Crabs, GenSan’s newest dining experience

Posted by bariles On July - 1 - 2008 - Visited 1646 times, 3 so far today

Last night when I got home, my partner handed over to me an invitation to the opening party of Gen. Santos City’s newest dining establishment, Pablo’s Steaks and Crabs. It was a very pleasant surprise since I did not have any idea that another Gensan restaurant was in the works.

Anyway, while reading the unique latino-theme inspired 3″x12″ white invite, I immediately deduced that Pablo could only be my kabalen Pabling Sunglao, since the venue is inside the PASEO DEL SOL (named after his wife), their party place beside their older and more established restaurant, Ranchero’s Grill along the National Highway.

Paseo del Sol at Night during one of its private functions

Ranchero offers the best “baby-back ribs” and steamed “pompano” in town and is arguably GenSan city’s most-preferred meeting places among businessmen and VIP’s for the past 5 years or so, satisfying their most epicurean tastes. They also serve exclusively the very refreshing Honeydew Melon which Pabling grows and harvests from his farms.

With its Kapampangan owners venturing into another GenSan diner offering a whole new and exciting concept, this could only mean another delightful and and not-to-be-missed gastronomic experience soon to be available for the generals starting this Friday, the 4th of July 2008.

Will you be there? I would because I surely wouldn’t want to miss the opening of Pablo’s Steak and Crabs for anything, considering the exceptional track record of its owners in the art and science of fine dining.

    Hello joemac! Finally, you’re back!

Still have to check out the place tomorrow evening, opening party.

Yes, they are really baby-back ribs from their own cattle ranch.

Need to moderate the comments to weed out SPAM Messages selling anything from viagra to farm implements to insurance. :)

@Ping, hello! Thanks for appreciating this blog of mine. I created this for my kababayans who are now working elsewhere and would need some info about their beloved city aside from the regular news they get from news websites.

Unfortunately, you can’t post pics here but you may join the discussions on the different articles (i have written over 160 already) posted here… especially the latest ones.

Hi lovely! Try the new EURO DINER at the Tiongson Arcade in Lagao, near the barbecue strip. It is owned by siblings Karl and Mae Macaraeg and Mae’s foreigner husband who used to be a chef in a cruise liner.

I have yet to visit the place but from what I have been hearing, they serve the largest and juiciest steaks this side of town, at P250 only! The place which opens only at night is always full packed.

    Sama mo ako ha? :)
