The Search is on for Ms. GenSan 2008
The 10th Tuna Festival is still months away on September 5, 2008 but the organizers of the Miss GenSan Beauty Pageant have already began their lookout for probable candidates for a bigger and more prestigious staging this year.

According to pageant chair Orman Manansala, to make the pageant more well represented, each of the 24 barangays of the city will be asked to send a representative.
Ideally, each beauty should come from the barangay she represents but this is not necessary in this competition. All the ladies however should satisfy residency rules of the Ms. GenSan pageant.
LAST YEAR’S MS.GENSAN 2007 & HER COURT. 20-year old NDDU Nursing Student Belle Esteban of Barangay Apopong was crowned Ms. Gensan 2007 on the night of September 2, 2007 in a jampacked ceremony at the KCC Convention & Trade Center. With her in the foto is her court (L-R) 1st Runner-Up Jen Cachuela and 2nd Runner-Up Lynn Menong.
Cash Prizes for the winners are as follows:
- Ms. GenSan 2008 – P25,000
- 1st Runner-up – P15,000
- 2nd Runner-up – P10,000
- Ms. Talent – P2,000
- Best in Festival Costume – P3,000
- Best in Swimswuit, Gown, & Ms. Congeniality – P1,000 each
- 7 Consolation Placers – P2,000 each.
The Ms. GenSan 2008 Pageant Night unfolds on September 4, 2008 at the Gaisano Mall of Gensan Atrium while the Talent Night and Ms. Gensan Sponsors’ Fashion Show happens on August 3.
The Sashimi Night 2008 at Gaisano Mall of GenSan’s Port Cafe will precede the staging of the Finals of Ms. Gensan.

I love all this beauty pageants!
Looking at those gorgeous, sexy, pretty young ladies…
everyone will be amazed that our city got lots of
hidden beauties! And mind you… got brains as well
di bah! Parang ako nong kabataan ko! hahaha! char lang oi!
Actually, i missed all the fun during our heydays…
when i was with the city government, i used to be one of
the organizing committee members together with Atty. Jeng
Gacal and Asst. City Admin. Glenn Gonzalez. It was always
a glamorous event of the year. Bongga gid!

@Kim, those were the days my friend! Too bad, there was no Mrs. Gensan then… you could have won handily. Haha!
Glennville is so busy these days as King of the Central Public Market while Atty. Jeng is busy with Manny Pacquiao as his legal counsel. They are way past their fascination with beauty queens. Hehe!
See? Orman took your bait. Hope Kenneth’s judging stint will really push through.

hi momi orms! hi tita kim! hi kuya avel! my gosh. just in time lang jud ang tunafest sa akong one week september holidays here. tempted ko muuli! hahhaa. .joke. mingaw na ko yummy tuna. dito lagi man kami naga jap resto pero iba lagi lasa ng sashimi nila!?! hahahaha.

@The Islander – hehehe… the lady who is featured in the poster is last year’s MISS GENSAN winner, Belle. she’s not the same girl in the pop idol competition.

i’m happy to announce that thirteen business enterprises have already signified their intention to support the candidates for this year’s Miss Gensan Pageant. we are also talking to a few corporate sponsors and hopefully will close the deals soon. please tell your friends that the SCREENING AND ELIMINATION SHOW happens on August 23 at the Gaisano Atrium.

she’s jeneveve cachuela, last year’s 1st runner up winner. she was among the top bets for miss gensan until the question and answer portion. i consider jen as our prodigal daughter coz she really speaks her mind and challenges authority. nevertheless she toes the line when push comes to shove.
