GenSan Tuna Shuttlers release guidelines for TunaFest Badminton Tourney

President Donex Ballicud, of the GenSan Tuna Shuttlers, organizers of the Tuna Festival 2008 Badminton Tournament which will be held at the BigShot Badminton Court from August 29 to 31, 2008 just released their tournament guidelines.

TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES:

General Provisions:

  • Leveling date is scheduled on August 28, 2008 (Thursday), 6:00 pm onwards at Mr. BigShot Badminton Court.
  • Deadline of Registration of Entries is at 10:00 PM August 25, 2008 (Monday)
  • All interested participants are required to attend the scheduled leveling date.
  • The Committee has the discretion to automatically assign the level of players/s who failed to come on the leveling date.
  • A Non-Refundable Rule will be observed in whatever circumstances may occur during the tournament period such as false affirmation of level, default, etc.
  • Any protest as to the leveling guidelines shall be honored/ entertained only before 12nn of August 29, 2008 (Friday).
  • Any protest as to the eligibility of the player/s shall be brought to the attention of the Committee by writing a letter of protest made by any interested player stating the name of the player/s and the reason/s for his/her disqualification. Such protest of eligibility shall be raised only before 12nn of August 29, 2008. No protest shall be entertained during the tournament date.
  • A NON-REFUNDABLE fee of Php 1000.00 will be collected before entertaining any protest
  • Teams, in any event, belonging to the same Club/Organization/Association will have the chance not to go against their fellow Club/Organization/Association members during their respective first Matches only.
  • The Committee shall decide by a majority vote and such decision is considered final and irrevocable.
  • The Committee is composed of Five (5) Members.
  • In case any category is composed of less than TEN (10) teams/pairs, the Committee shall have the right to change or dissolve the category

Basic Provisions:

  1. Scoring System: Best of 3 sets 1-21 Rally Point System
  2. Tournament Format: Double Elimination
  3. Defaulting System: 10 Minutes after the second call. (Time based on Mr. Bigshot Clock )
  4. Court Courtesy: IBF Rules shall be applied regarding Player’s Conduct.

A. Mixed Doubles:

Rules:

  1. Trainer, Former and Current members of National Team are ineligible to play unless he/she is 40 yrs old or above
  2. Former and Current member of National training pool are also ineligible to play unless he/she is 40 yrs old or above.

B. Men’s/ Women’s Doubles Level C:
Rules:

  1. Former Varsity Players who graduated last 2005 and/or below are eligible to join provided they have been inactive in Regional and/or National Competitions; Provided further, that they are not classified as Class B;
  2. Players/Pairs that misrepresented their levels in the Class D Event and obtained an adverse judgment from the Committee upon a proper petition are elevated to Class C;
  3. High School and College Varsity Players/Pairs are eligible to join provided that they have not participated in any national competitions [Sanctioned by the Public/Private School or by the governing body of Badminton (PBA)] in the year 2007-2008 and both players are not classified as Class B.

C. Men’s / Women’s Doubles Level D:

Rules:

  1. High School Varsity players not classified as Class C or above are eligible to play;
  2. Players/Pairs that misrepresented their levels in the Class E Event and obtained an adverse judgment from the Committee upon a proper petition are elevated to Class D.
  3. Class E Players are encouraged to join.

D. Men’s/ Women’s Doubles Level E:

Rules:

  1. Players/Pairs that misrepresented their levels in the Class F Event and obtained an adverse judgment from the Committee upon a proper petition are elevated to Class E.
  2. Class F Players are encouraged to join.

E. Men’s/ Women’s Doubles Level F:

Rules:

  1. Open to GENERAL SANTOS CITY Residents Only.
  2. Players/Pairs that misrepresented their levels in the Class F Event and obtained an adverse judgment from the Committee upon a proper petition are elevated to Class E.

    actually i know the man who made d poster, i was their when create those colorful layouts and captions. as u notice its very attractive and creative. imagine that it was made within 5 minutes only!!!!!! hahahahaha unbelievable??? well, its true “WAY ATIK”…. after the poster was printed i observed that artist is sleepy and yawning…. In Short “KATULUGUN PA SIYA” that time!!!! Imagine that!!!! His very creative and professional in making the poster….. hope the festival will be successful, peace and fun………. mabuhay GENSAN
