A star-studded Bodyfest 2008 Finals

15 September 2008 659 views 15 Comments

Bariles Republic noticed that the Bodyfest Search for Models Competition held back to back with the FISHDANCE Competition - Mindanao Showdown during the 10th Tuna Festival was one of the most succesful events during the week-long celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Gen. Santos City’s Charterhood.

The crowd practically took over the whole of the Gaisano Mall of GenSan Atrium and the viewing decks at the 2nd floor.

It was also star-studded in the sense that former PBA player and now Ginebra coach Allan Caidic was there together with Olympian and movie actor Monsour del Rosario as judges.

Seen having fun during the fast-paced show megged by Director Dino Veloso were City Councilor Richard Atendido (who gamely agreed to be the guinea pig for the demo of Fusion Excel, one of the sponsors) and his preggy wife Narly, former Councilor Minda Atendido, Assistant City Administrator Glennville Gonzalez, GSCCCII Executive Director Pilar Afuang, Asia United Bank exec Dave Areglado, Zion Travel and Tours GM Francis Sablon.

Fusion-Excel’s Atty. Kenneth Lee, Mayor Jun Acharon, and Mrs. Kimberly Villanueva-Lee

Bariles Republic also spotted Tunafest Director Bebot Haw, City Mayor Jun Acharon who was seated between Fusion Excel’s Atty. Kenneth Lee & his lovely wife & GenSan beauty, Kimberly Villanueva (who planed in from Kuala Lumpur 2 days earlier),  Ms. Gensan 2006 & ABS-CBN host Rhean Acosta, Fashion Designer Association of the Philippines president Johnny Abad, and Manila-based dance & hip-hop artist Oliver Neil Busier.

Bariles Republic also took note of the Gaisano Mall management staff who were there to make sure that everything goes smooth.  Kudos to them!

The whole gang of the General Santos City Camera Club were also in full force.

Hosting the show were Kapamilya deejays Mario Valentino, Cheenee and Katrina who did a “cool” dance number at the start of the show.

Just the same, the Kapuso Team from Davao City was also there to cover the event.

In the end, the following models with bodies to die for were proclaimed as winners:

  • Dicovery Models: Marisa Mae Laura and Jeffthie John Cariño

  • Ramp Models: Naiza Balindo and Ronald Colon

  • Bodyfest Champions: Joelden Gellor and Micheal Crisostomo

Here are the rest of the photos Bariles Republic took.  You may click on each one for a larger view.

Bariles Republic congratulates Orman and his team which includes Director Dino Veloso, Arnold Velasquez, Pauline Pasion, the Intensity Dancers, Marrel de Pedro, among others by pulling this through again.
