Hi Orms,

the project is under the GSCCAC or the GSC Culture and the Arts Council where GSCTC is an institutional member. This was brought up during the first meeting of the GSCCAC as the projects in place of GSCCAC together with the following projects: Conceptualization of the General Santos City Museum, the Eco Karera and the Kuyug Tanu Regional Fair. Unfortunately the GSCTC failed to send a representative to the meetings despite the notices of meetings.

The NTW was a Cemcdo initiated project for the past three years and it was only this year that Cemcdo was removed as a member of the Tourism Council. So Cemcdo has no recourse but to implement this project through the GSCCAC under Vice Chair Richard Attendido.

I hope this clear up the matter :)Cheers!!

@blue - Hi Blue, the Art Installation contest is a new addition. Its a very interesting contest because the materials to be used for the art installation are 85% non-degradable waste materials. This contest is aimed at creatingawareness on proper solid waste management.

Hi Rhey- many of the activities may seem to be not related to climate change but if you look closely at the contest criteria and rules you will discover that the activities are geared towards protecting mother earth which can come in many ways and not only tree planting. Tree planting is a good idea but it is being done by a lot of people and organizations already. Waste management is a bigger problem to because many of us still burn their refuse at their backyards which is actually prohibited by RA 9003 or teh solid waste management act and its local counterpart, the City Ordinance no.8. Lets all support the national tourism week.

I think if Gensan would be greener, it would really be one of the most livable cities in the Philippines. Our environment should be given priority since it has been depleted at a faster rate. =D
