2009 Kalilangan Festival Poster commemorating GenSan’s 70th Foundation released

Posted by bariles On January - 13 - 2009 - Visited 2853 times, 3 so far today

On February 27, 2009, General Santos City will be celebrating its 70th Foundation Anniversary and a week-long 2009 Kalilangan Festival will likewise be conducted to commemorate this monumental event.

I have just received through my email this layout, commissioned by GSC Tourism Council Vice-Chair Rey Billena and Kalilangan Festival Director Orman Manansala and designed by Montage’s Ronald Velasquez (newly married to City Mayor’s Office’ Gaygay Llido) to serve as the official poster-calendar and billboard artwork for the city’s 70th birthday!

Dyaaa….raaan….!!!!

2009 Kalilangan Poster

Click on the poster for a larger view.

The poster features the photos of the city’s past mayors and vice-mayors, the incumbent councilors, Mayor Jun Acharon, Vice-Mayor Flor Congson and Congresswoman Darlene Antonino-Custodio.

The theme for this year’s 70th Foundation Anniversary which will run from February 16-27, 2009 is “Pagbabalik gunita sa pitumpong taon ng Kapayapaan, Kaunlaran at Kasiyahan”.

The official list of activities will be released in a few days.

hi jessQ… that is exactly what we have in mind. sana makatanggap ka rin coz limited edition lang yan. we actually ran a competition among schools who offer i.t. courses — that’s to design the logos, posters, billboards and the like for kalilangan 2009. i’ve seen some of them designs and boy-oh-boy am i thrilled. this poster by the way is just a teaser… whose objective is to drum up interest for kalfest 2009. and since we’re celebrating 70 years this year, what better way but to feature our leaders of the past, present and the future (kung sinong bobotohin natin). watch out for more updates. thanks kuya avel.

Yey, may event na naman sa gensan. Hopefully we will be more vigilant this time and security is tighter as to avoid unfortunate events. In relation to this, napaisip ako kung musta na kaya yung Gen. Santos museum sa NDDU, nagkaroon na kaya ng improvements? hmmm. Last time I visited closed yun, and the last time I read about it was on ate Cathy Bolodo’s blog. Sana mas maging aware tayo sa roots natin as generals. It would be good if elementary schools would add the history of gensan as a topic to its students.

Thank you so much, Mr Bariles. By the way, di ko pa natatanggap yong poster calendar ni Manny Pacquiao. I already told my Election Assistant about it and his smile stretched all the way towards his ears when he learned that I’m going to give him a memento of his idol. Sana daw pina-address ko na lang sa COMELEC Office in Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental, para seguradong matanggap nya, instead of my residence here in Iligan City. I assured him he’ll get it anyhow when it arrives.

last night, the festival committee chose the winner of the I.T. DESIGN COMPETITION. the schools that submitted entries are ACLC, HOLY TRINITY COLLEGE, RMMC and STI. the competition called for the best logo, poster, billboard, tv and radio ad designs which will earn the winner TWENTY THOUSAND PESOS. we had a great time viewing entries and i am certain that you will be awestruck by the winning entry. we will be using them as official issues for this year’s kalilangan festival. i don’t want to preempt the announcement as it will be done officially by tourism council vice chair REY BILLENA. CONGRATULATIONS!

RMMC is going to collaborate with ACLC on some of the entries, try lang natin join para naman marecognize sa nationals na meron nang animation sa gensan, we also invite other schools to join.

Go Go Go Gensan!!! :-)

to god be the glory! yes, thats one of RMMC’s targets… to make an example of what gensan potentials can do, we want to spread the knowledge for those who want to learn din. im sure others schools in gensan have great talents in this field that can surpass the best, but talent alone wont make an effective or convincing output but talent with a heart for service and not for the price always makes a mark.
