The local government of GenSan has just released a Memo No. OMMA2009-MAR-IGST-0096 dated March 4, 2009, to all its employees declaring March 9, 2009, Monday a Legal Muslim Holiday.
This is in observance of the Maulidin Nabi or the Birthday of Prophet Mohammad, S.A.W., corresponding to the 12th day of Rabbi-ul Awwal, 1430 Hijra (the Islamic Calendar).

According to the memo:
Per Presidential Decree No. 1083 and Section 4 of the Civil Service Commission Resolution No. 81-1277, in Regions 9 and 12, offices and agencies of the national and local government are closed, therefore, Muslims and non-Muslims are all excused from work.
