mr.bariles ,good day,,, nw is 2012 na asa nman to karun ang mga expected major renovation kuno sa airport beh? when we say major renovations dpat tnan,,gikas sa arrival,sa departure,sa boarding area,,og ngadto pasulod sa eroplano nga kmportable ang pasahero,,i think we indeed that our city is a booming city,,,dpat lng mgng competitive ang airport ntin,,kng pwede lng my flight na tyo direct international para di na hassle mgbaba baba pa tyo sa manila,,unya sakay napod ta ngadto sa ato ibat ibang destinations kng hain ta paduhong sa abroad,,,,unya there must be comfortable facilities sa sulod sa airport,,dpat nindot na restawrant,,malls,,duty free balikbayan shop,,,,dghan building ba sulod sa airport…..arun ang mga investor pwede nla panghambog ato airport in other countries not onluy here in phil……government of gensan,,gumicing keo,,,,it’s about tym na para mgng world class facilities and aminities ang gensan airport,,,especially the flights dpat kmpleto na ,,dili lng dpat ang manila ang my intrnational flights garbo pod na sa mga tga generals na mgkaroon tyo ng intrnational flights,,,,aerobridges,,tube,,unya aircon tanan dpat,,,,,,sa ing ana na kalagayan tan aw nko dili pa gyod improve keo ang gensan,,busa mag level up tah to the max,,ky karapat dpat mn ang potentials ,,businesses og infrastructure sa gensan palambuon………

I could feel the sentiments of the fellow bloggers here, i just flew this week to MNL & it seems the renovations done are not that major, major talaga sa departure & arrival. Nothing significant changes really happens to GSIA except on the outside that their is a constructions going on, I think its passenger’s waiting area or a sort of. Forgive me ha, but the budget of P121M seems are not worth of what we expected of . I thought our airport terminal now fully airconditioned? but it seems sa portion lang ng departure area pa rin, not on the check-in counter.

And suggestions lang, sana ang mag open pa ng another route like GSC-ILOILO; GSC-CDO; GSC-TAGBILARAN & GSC-CLARK & we could realize this by inviting another airline companies such as Airphilsexpress, Zestair, etc. We have to be globally competitive when it comes to facilities, if we want to catch up to other cities & to the world. And please, please ang carts natin jurassic pa rin. Maraming mga kababayan natin from Marbel, Tacurong,Glan, Kiamba, Isulan, Surralah, Banga, etc who are using our airport. So we MUST upgrade our facilities para naman gaganahan silang gumamit sa airport natin or else they might travel elsewhere. Peace!

Sa totoo lang ay hindi talaga ako convinced sa ginagawang pagaayos sa loob ng ating paliparan…We badly needed TUBES going to the airplane and we need to transfer the pre departure on the second floor…masikip pa rin ang check-in area at and init iniiiit!! sus maryosep…Napanood ko nga pala ang feature ni Socsksargen Isyu Karon sa GMA ch.8, nanlumo talaga ako sa kalagayan ng ating pandaigdigang paliparan as innnn…!!…hala ka oy…”Global GenSan” na ba jud ta ani? eewwwe mangingking ang bisita nato pag abot pa lang sa airport…hahahaha Peace out!

OO nga, bakit hindi pa pinapalitang ang signage sa building nga paliparan? dapat palitan na ng “General Santos City International Airport” at kelan ba lalagyan ng aerobrodges ito? kalaking airport eh napaka 3rd class ng facilities…wala man lang evening flights…tuloy ang mga OFW na darating ng manila or cebu will have to wait until tomorrow to catch a flight to gensan or worst is they have to catch a flight to davao which in return ay ang davao ang nakikinabang sa arrival datas…attention naman po dyan ATO Chief Nazareno…Hoy Gising! Its time to add more convenient flights to GenSan…evening flights will do.

@Khalid, renovation work is still ongoing, per my last check. Maybe we have to wait until it finishes first before we compare it with other airports. But just like you, naiinip na rin ako.

any progress on the renovation of GSIA which is worth P121M? it’s more than a year had passed very minimal lang ang changes????? I hope our LGU can do something to improve the Aesthetic view of our International Airport kuno? it’s not even @ par with davao or cagayan airports. calling ato / icao…… I hope our new Minda chief Mrs. Lu Antonino can do something to improve the present condition of our airport.

actually GSIA can handle night flights… there are several instances where Cebu Pacific flies in and out of GenSan after sunset because of flight delays.. there’s even a video in youtube of an evening arrival of a Cebu Pacific flight from Manila.

i agree with TOINKS… most of the international flights arrives in the afternoon or sometimes at night.. seldom lang ang morning arrivals.

hopefully, airline carriers will put up evening flights…anyway, as it was mention in this post the rehabilitation will include the air navigation and air traffic control facilities, the ATC tower and fire station buildings. with these improvements, the airport can handle evening flights na..

this is long overdue na.. dapat noon pa yan..at least na ambonan tayo ng graces from malacanang..weve been deprived of hard infra for so long because of reasons only gma can reveal..hahaha…anyway sana tuloy tuloy na ito cos the generals are tax payers too..we deserve our share dont we..what do you think avel???
