BluGre Coffee mounts Anoy Catague’s “Colors of Our Roots” Art Exhibit
Beginning today, July 8, 2009 up till the 28th, BluGre Coffee Shop, located at Manny and Jinky Pacquiao’s downtown commercial building in General Santos City will play host to the artworks of Davao painter Anoy Catague. The showcase, billed as “Colors of Our Roots” is Catague’s 7th Solo Art Exhibit.

The artist who originally hails from Butuan is now a resident of Davao City whose dayjob is, as cameraman of ABS-CBN Davao. He uses mostly acrylic paint and pen and ink in his work and has adapted surrealism in his painting style.
His subjects matters are the different tribes of Mindanao, starting off with the Manuvus of Agusan del Norte, the Bagobos of Davao, the B’laans of Sarangani, to name just a few.
Last year, Anoy held a succesful one-man show at Museo Dabawenyo which was patronized by no less than Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who purchased a piece of his works which is now featured in the poster of “Colors of Our Roots”.
As cameraman of ABS-CBN, Anoy has done a lot of documentaries, the latest of which is the documentary on the old families of Davao City, eventually shown on TV during the Araw ng Dabaw.
The “Colors of Our Roots” Art Exhibition at BluGre Coffee is also presented by Manny and Jinky Pacquiao, Mayor Rod Duterte, Architect Michael Ebru Dacudao, Joey Concepcion and ABS-CBN TV Davao and Soccskargen. It runs from July 8 – 28, 2009.
