1st Regional Investment Conference starts today
Today’s 1st Regional Investment Conference (R12 ICON) is the culminating event (together with the Young Entrepreneurs Fair) of the most succesful conduct of the Yaman GenSan (GenSan Business Month) ever.
The ICON is a project of the Department of Trade and Industry XII in cooperation of Department of Tourism XII, Department of Agriculture, and Bureau of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources XII. The venue is at the Paseo del Sol, National Hi-way, General Santos City beginning today. July 22 until the 23rd.
Under the theme “Channeling Substantial Resources Towards Investments”, the two-day R12 ICON aims among others to promote trade, industry and tourism investments in the region.

The event has three component activities: Investment Conference, One-on-One Business Matching, and Investment Exhibit.
The plenary session in the morning serves as the venue for the presentation of market prospects and investment opportunities in featured projects such as freshwater shrimp (ulang); honeybee; coconut sugar, sap and honey; barako coffee; cardava banana; sunflower farming; eco-tourism site development; malunggay; and ICT-KPO.
The break-out session in the afternoon shall be product specific for a thorough discussion of product, technology, financing windows and for business matching, as well.
Major institutional buyers/producers both in the domestic and international market are being tapped as resource speakers.
Interested participants would only have to shell out P1,000 to join the conference which is a fitting end to Yaman GenSan 2009.
