Ang mura naman ng bayad. I doubt if they’ll be able to get quality teachers for that kind of compensation package… di pa gyud kasali ang housing.

yeah ryt mr.blogie nd ms.jinky, i agree wid u both. masyadong mababa nman ang rate, prang not worthy to leave ur family for such amount.
nways, good news pa rin yan! opportunity pa rin! i dont have any idea, kung magkano ang rate sa atin jan but compare here, medyo mababa talga yang offer na yan.
on d other hand, we shud b proud kasi a lot of countries appreciate our ability. nd nga pala, share ko lang po, next year, korea will open its door for filipinos, indians and singaporeans english teachers. before kasi they only accept native speakers pero next year daw, they will accept applicants from these 3 countries.
sana makalipat ako dun, malaki daw ata ang offer.hmmmmmmm
thnx po. God bless. more power!

To give blogie & jinky background about how interview is done abroad, the salary is negotiable just like here in Bangkok. They may put at least 30k baht but during the negotiation, if you’re really clever enough and prove your worth at the interview you will get the rate for “farangs” (Caucasians, not necessarily native speakers!). In Pinas, you can’t demand for your rate as we believe that it’s unethical to do that but in here, your salary depends mainly on your negotiation & communication(esp accent :) skills (not only qualifications & teaching experience).
The recruiters from UniMap said they will give higher than that for those who have master’s degree or higher qualification. Besides, the overload fee per hour is about 700 pesos. Would you please tell me where in Gensan can you find a college or university that pays that much? Most of the institutions there pay between 50 and 300 pesos (even for those with doctoral degrees) per hour whether part-time or full time. If you could tell me then I will go home and teach there.
I agree with Rissa that there are a lot of kababayans in Thailand who accept even 10-15k baht because back home, they receive only about 6-7k pesos for a start. Again, it all depends on the applicant’s negotiation skills as employers know from the very start of the interview whether the applicant is worth paying much.

Btw, for those who are interested in applying as this job ad came rather late (my apologies for discovering this website’s feature too late), there’s an advice that you can walk-in for an interview at East Asia Royale Hotel on August 22 in the afternoon. Look for Dr. Syaharom Abdullah.

wala ngang accommodation, bravo, but if you or your friends intend to apply, pls ask them for it kc it’s their first time to hire foreigner teachers. as i’m from gensan, i recommended my very own city and davao for this opportunity instead of manila. mas attractive nga if meron sana kaso i was told that they may offer the university guesthouse (which can be shared by the pinoy teachers) at low cost. titingnan pa daw.malay niyo ililibre na rin if makipag-bargain mga applicants.anyway, a house of 3 bedrooms there costs about MR350 (7 hrs lng na overload) mas mura kesa mga studio-type lng na flats dito sa bangkok. foodstuff & other prime commodities are very cheap there just like here. if galing ka ng gensan or davao where mura ang mga pagkain, di ka masha-shock doon.
btw, from dabawenyos who may want to apply, just go to Waterfront Insular Hotel on the 23rd in the afternoon for a walk-in interview.

pls update us naman kung sino-sino yung pumasa at natanggap sa work na ito…salamat. Malaysia is not expensive naman. It’s worth a try than doing nothing here in Pinas. hahaha!
