SOCOTECO II Schedule of Browouts in GenSan/ List of Feeders
On March - 16 - 2010 - 552 views
For the sake of all the weary and pissed off victims of the brownouts and blackouts in General Santos City, GenSan News Online Mag is releasing the Schedule of Power Interruptions or Load Sheddings (see below) furnished by SOCOTECO II.
But before that, they are advised to check first the Feeder # to which they belong. Check out the list of feeders below, which were divided into Groups A and B.
Find out whether your Feeder belongs to either GROUP A or GROUP B.
Below is the Weekly Shedding Schedule (Brownouts) of SOCOTECO II in GenSan.

Scroll down to check your Feeder’s SYMBOL : BOX (Group A) or DIAMOND (Group B).

Look for your corresponding symbols on the table of brownout schedules (Load Shedding) below.

That is your supposedly BROWNOUT schedules for the week.
Good luck! Now you know when to prepare your brownout kits (candles, lamps, generators, cardboard fans) or when to head out to the nearest mall to pass off the heat.

Thanks for posting. So until what month pa ba ang brownout sa south cotabato. Mabuti pa ang Luzon and Visayas walang brownout, yet tayo wala pa rin solution ang national government.

@Guys, last night di nasunod ang schedule sa Feeder namin. Instead of a brownout at 10pm, tuloy-tuloy ang ilaw until mag-umaga na. Now, if these are the unannounced changes in their original skeds, then Socoteco II has my permission to do it again and again.

Heard from those passing the Pulangi Hydropower at Quezon, Bukidnon that water level is sufficient. Why then a 12hr brown out by SOCOTECO?
Game of the Generals: Does Socoteco collaborate with the proposed coal powered electric plant so that it will be approved against the on going green environment & climate change?

@Dodong: thats is why nga po it is really smelling fishy, i mean disgustingly fissshhhhy so to speak. Not to mention it has been continually raining in northern Mindanao the past weeks. How come the hydropower plants still drying up? Kung kaya hindi tayo masyado inuulan dito sa Gensan ay kasi ang daming EWAN!

However what i don’t understand is the sharing of the available power. Other Cities have much less brownouts than South Cotabato.
Davao 2-3 hours
CDO 3-4 hours
Butuan 3-4 hours
Surigao City 4-5 hours
Kidapawan none since 3 weeks
Gingoog none since 2 weeks
Gensan 6-9 hours
Ozamis 8 hours
Marbel 8 hours
Why does South Cotabato und Ozamis have more brownouts then Davao or CDO?
I would love to get an explanation from Napocor.
Last, but not least, the blame belongs to the government and our seemingly incompetent energy secretary. As early as 2007 warnings were given about coming brownouts, because of insufficient power supply. To blame El Nino alone is nonsense. Dry season is every year and it is not the first time, that our hydro-electric plants do have not enough water. El Nino is not a new weather situation, but occurs every 5-6 years. Things like that are supposed to be anticipated by the people, who are respomsible. Alas they did not.
No solutions are visible on the horizon. No gen sets have eased the daily suffering of the people. In Novaliches are 4 power barges with a capacity of 480 Megawatts. They are idle. If brought here, we would have sufficient power since late February with 1-2 hours brownouts daily.
The brownouts are here to stay. Even after the lakes are full of water again, we will have brownouts of 1-2 hours at least until 2012/13.
We have to get used to it and I hope people will vote wiser this time around.
After all we had the same situation way back from 1990-1994. Here was also incompetence of the people in power the reason in the same way ,as it is today.

Why does Socoteco not make any Statement to this.

I just heard, that starting monday brownouts shall last 12 hours. Each brownout shall last 6 hours. After one week of no brownout it is simply not understandable anymore, what happens here.
Can anybody confirm this?

I had read everything before i wrote and i know by now, that it was the plan starting tomorrow. However Socoteco suspendet it and resumes the power curtailment in the same way as before.
What i really would like to know, is where the power in the last nine days came from. After all, in those nine days we did not have a single brownout.
And I am asking myself why we have to suffer again.
