SHREK 3D at Robinsons Movieworld on May 20!

Posted by bariles On May - 19 - 2010 - 68 views

Barely three weeks ago, Bariles wrote about the  friendly “race” of General Santos City’s two malls in offering to the generals the first 3D movie-going experience at their cinemas.

In that article (check it clicking here), KCC Mall of GenSan asserted that they already have a 3-D equipped theater but will still have to postpone opening it until after they have changed everything inside it for a full-3D experience.  Robinsons Place GenSan on the other hand hinted that they will start offering their own 3D-cinema once Shrek-The Final Chapter 3D is released worldwide.

Well, friends, readers and subscribers, that time is tomorrow, May 20, 2010 and yes, Robinsons Movieworld GenSan is screening SHREK-The Final Chapter on its first 3D theater – and Soccskargen’s first, too!

For you to be able to watch Shrek Forever After on 3D at Robinsons Movieworld GenSan, you will only have to shell out P120 which is a bit pricey but which Bariles thinks is just right considering the additional investments that the mall had to put in.  And of course, the prints of a 3D movie would have to be more expensive than the regular ones.

And besides, that’s not too expensive compared to Manila and Cebu 3D theaters, where everything starts at P200!

FLASHBACK TIME! When Bariles was smaller and sexier, he used to watch 3D movies at any of the now gone Capitol, State, Pioneer and Golden City Theaters while wearing cardboard glasses with multicolored plastic lenses just like the one pictured below.

He also remembers developing headaches in the middle of these 3D movies.   At that time, either the images were blurred or the colors mix-matched that watching a 3D movie on screen is like walking through a nightmare, awake.  A sample still of the screen is shown in the picture below, courtesy of American Egypt.

"OLD 3D MOVIES USED TO LOOK LIKE THIS PHOTO ON THE SILVER SCREEN."

But now however, while watching Shrek Forever After 3D at the Robinsons GenSan Movieworld, expect the images on screen to be in full vivid colors and to leap out towards you.  This will make you feel as if you are part of the movie yourself, an experience much like what is depicted in the photo below.

So there, Bariles is enjoining you to please tell your friends and go shout to the whole world that finally, GenSan has its own 3D Cinema, a whole new movie-going experience for the generals and their neighbors!

Thanks to the management of Robinsons Place General Santos City who have really been all out in ensuring their adherence to truth in advertising, with their slogan “MAS MAGANDA DITO”.

And lest Bariles forgets, Robinsons Place Movieworld is also running a RAFFLE PROMOTIONFor every two movie tickets purchased from them, the buyer will receive one RAFFLE COUPON. This promo which lasts until June will give out electronic gadgets such as cellphones, etc. as prizes.  So there.

ADDENDUM:  Got a text message today from my mole at KCC Mall of GenSan which says that “We are also screening SHREK 3D at one of our cinemas.”

i guess inuuto lang tayo ng kcc na sila raw ang nauna. baka siguro wala pa talaga sila and ginagawa pa… Gaya-gaya lang talaga sila… eh, SM nga ginaya nila eh; the interiors, the color (green dati, “blue” na ngayon), and the font, color, and style ng “KCC” nila para ding “SM”… whew…

Too bad I can’t watch Shrek in 3D until my dad gets back from Cebu. Tskk. But, come on. No offence, people need to stop comparing this to an IMAX movie. IMAX costs more because it’s not the same with a 3D theater. PEACE.

Kudos to Gensan! I hope KCC won’t disappoint us.

    mga kabayan. . .

. . let them be after all chinese ang owner ng KCC, di ba? Alam nyo naman pag CHINA made. . .
    carbon copy walang originality. . . .

hahahaha. . yung style and position ng logo ng KCC . 100% the same sa SM ng po. . .pati interior and exterior may similarities. . . .

WAG KAYO MANIWALA DYAN SA MGA SPOKEPERSONS NG KCC. . . .
    MAKURYENTE KAYO DYAN . HEHEHEHE

whoooaa! can’t wait for another 3D film to be shown at Robinsons Movieworld. I’ve watch it with my wife at 6pm today….P120 is not bad, I should say, P111 each ticket.. and please take advantage of their raffle.. buy two tickets and have a chance to win cool stuff. its worth the experience and fun, swear. I’d like best the feeling of having the images on air, not on screen… thanks to the 3d technology. One question still lingers on my mind until now…how much would i pay to take home the 3d glasses i wore? just for a remembrance of my first 3d experience. lol!

Just watched SHERK at ROB yesterday, its really great & worth of your money and time. I don’t know with KCC kung the same pa rin ba. I noticed the moviegoers of Rob patiently wait for their time schedule and a bit excited just like me to watch the 3D movie for the first time, hehe. Yeah, siguro pag may IMAX na tayo dito mas lalong superb. What I like of ROB MOVIEWORLD is their spacious chairs, well lighted stairs, no more stumbling, carpeted and very clean facilities. And the people of Gensan are beginning to appreciate ROBINSONS PLACE as an excellent malling alternative destination. And mind you, I just paid P44 for the four tickets because I have my CITIbank card. Not bad, is’nt it?

Speaking of KCC, I had a bad experience with their Customer Service. I was shocked with the attitude they have. Both the employee and the Supervisor of CS and nakausap ko when I made a complaint. I was disappointed but I did not tell them that I’m a CS Supervisor too in a multinational company and what they’re giving to the customers is a very POOR service. Anyways, I’m still happy that competition among our malls here gave more benefits for the generals.

  27. Echuserang Palaka Says:

    Eto yung opinyon ko:

In fairness sa KCC, mas maganda ang 3D nila! Hahaha!
As in. Tama yung sinulat dito ni Mr. Bariles:

“KCC Mall of GenSan already have a 3-D equipped theater” —–>this is true.

“The KCC insider then tried to explain that they are on the process of renovating their 3D-equipped theater, changing the seats to make it “acoustically compatible” with the 3D matched with their dolby digital sound; improving the walls to be able to withstand the sound effects and changing the screen. Unlike Robinsons Movieworld, he added, which will only be changing its projector for its assigned 3D cinema, KCC will be overhauling the whole cinema, making it a more pleasurable 3D-moviegoing experience for the generals.”—–>Tama :-)

Well very refined naman ito which is mas naiintindihan mo ang sinasabi nila. Unlike sa KCC, parang lumalabas talaga yung mga characters sa screen parang mga “cut pop-ups” na gumagalaw talaga (I was able to look sideways while while using sa 3D glasses kasi eh). Hehe.

Try nyo kaya i-compare by watching the said movie on both malls.

Sa pangkalahatan, dahil sa competition ng dalawang malls to bring the best they could offer, masayang-masaya ako kasi tayong mga consumer din ang lubos na nakaka-benefit nito. Hehe.

Posted on May 28th, 2010 at 12:07 AM

  28. Echuserang Palaka Says:

    Pahabol:

Hehe.
Then kukuha lang sila doon then pupunasan at ibibigay sa iyo. (Well this is what I observed).

  29. white knight Says:

@Echuserang Palaka :-) WELL DONE! What a comparison. Very scientific talaga ginawa. Thanks for the information and because of your comment I may also try KCC next time sa 3D nila. hehe.
