SOCOTECO II’s July 14-17 Brownout Schedule
If you noticed very recently, the pesky brownouts are back!
In a television interview, SOCOTECO GM Rudy Ocat said that these were unannounced power interruptions from Transco, hence they had no or little time to inform their consumers.
Here is their Power Advisory.
NGCP MAINTENANCE TO EFFECT LOAD CURTAILMENT

JULY 12-17, 2010
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) notified SOCOTECO II last Thursday, July 8, 2010, that repair of its 50 MVA power transformer due to oil leaks, will cause rotational brown-out on July 12-17, 2010.
The one-time rotational brown-out will range from two (2) to two and half (2.5) hours, daily. All SOCOTECO II feeders will experience this load curtailment, starting July12, Monday and will end on July 17, Saturday.
Meanwhile, a 15-minute outage will be felt by all areas covered by SOCOTECO II SARI, Glan, Ligaya, Main Office and Leon Llido substations on the switching operation on July 12 (8-8:15AM) and July 17 (4:45-5PM).
SOCOTECO II has to implement this load curtailment notice to ensure protection of NGCP’s transmission system which supplies power to all SOCOTECO II customers.
