SM City GenSan Map
The ongoing ground works on the 6-hectare lot leased by SM Holdings from the Salazar Family for their upcoming SM City General Santos is now on fever pitch.
For the benefit of our readers who have not been to the fenced area personally or couldn’t visualize where it is exactly, we are providing you with this photo rendering of the SM City GenSan map courtesy of Google Maps.
It shows the footprint of the whole mall compound straddling the corner of Santiago Boulevard and San Miguel Street (its frontage) up to a small portion reaching up to Jose Catolico Avenue, eating up into the property of the SOCOTECO II Compound (which they bought).
In this map, San Miguel Street has been renamed as San Miguel Boulevard by the people of SM. Bariles will explain why in a future post.
Thanks to our mole at SM who provided us with this SM City GenSan Map.

With the concentration of those big malls in that part of the city, I’m sure traffic will become a problem, maybe chaotic than what it was, as I observed when I was there last year. I just wonder if the city government have also plans to manage traffic in that area…

I just hope they will widen the San miguel street to avoid traffic congestion. I presume they will widen it kasi binili nila ang part ng socoteco II compound to make a traffic junction with traffic lights. and a 6 hectare plot for SM, in not trying to be pessimistic mode, hindi ganun kalakihan ang mall itself gawa ng kakain pang space ang parking lots whcih I think malaki ang magiging requirements as per the prevailing standards ng Building code. ; )

tama tama lang ang size maybe ng SM city GenSan, more like KCC perhaps.

sana may botique rin ng Levi Strauss at Lacoste, sana merong food outlet such as Krispy Kreme, Burger King, Chili’s…sana meron ding McDonald’s Cafe. I would suggest Jinky’s fashion to have an outlet there along with Team Pacquiao apparels. Sana meron ding Nando’s, T.G.I.Fridays. Botiques such as Zara & Forever 21. Sana, sana….hehehe

Ang ganda! But is it really necessary to have 4 big malls in a small place like GENSAN? Gensan needs UST, call centers and any places where college graduates do not need to go to Manila, Cebu or Davao to work. Gensan needs University specializing in medicine or engineering courses. Sm will will give jobs to many, but will also kill other business and small capitalists. GENSAN GOVERNMENT please think about it.
