Dine, Kiss & Tell @ Koronadal’s “The Farm”

Posted by bariles On February - 6 - 2011 4 COMMENTS

Koronadal City, the capital of South Cotabato has always been a choice hideaway of Bariles ever since time immemorial if he wanted to escape from the hustle and bustle of GenSan.

Although progressing rapidly owing to the fact that it is THE “government center” of Region XII, it still has not lost its laid back, relaxed charm which makes for a refreshing visit once in a while.  More so, its culinary destinations are some of the best reasons to stay on with their inventive take of special events like Christmas, Annual Festivals and the upcoming  Valentines, among other things.

At Koronadal City’s sprawling and scenic The Farm, the Day of Hearts is one of those times that this premier resort located at Carpenter Hill is famously known for.

For February 14, 2011, sure to gather more guests than they could handle is romantic event  for lovebirds dubbed as “Dine, Kiss and Tell @ The Farm, Carpenter Hill“.

Dine, Kiss and Tell” at The Farm, Koronadal is not just for everyone though.  Guests are required to adhere to a strictly semi-formal or cocktail dress code.

This is an attractive proposition if one wants to surprise their partners to a really special Valentine’s dinner since it comes just once a year.  And with a hefty entrance fee of P500 per pax, you will surely be in the esteemed and exclusive company of Marbel’s and upper Valley’s affluent set.

We still do not have an inkling of what awaits the guests of “The Farm” on their Valentine’s Day Specials but for sure, its owners will leave no stone unturned in making this event one that will be much talked about in the weeks to come.

The Farm’s “Dine, Kiss & Tell” unveils at the Gazebo starting at 7pm.  For reservations, call them at (083) 228-1888 or fax them at 228-9010.

The Farm was the venue and food sponsor of the Soccsksargen Bloggers’ Photo-Journalism Workshop for Bloggers.

Valentine’s 50% Off Room Rates @ Hotel Dolores

Posted by bariles On February - 4 - 2011 4 COMMENTS

One of the busiest establishments during Valentine’s Month aside from the dining establishments in the country are the hotels.  It is therefore one of the few times that hotels achieve 100% near capacity and more often than not, are fully booked.

Here in General Santos City, all of the hotels have been preparing for this eventuality and usually, regular rates are up due to the peak season.

But then again, nothing can stop Hotel Dolores from giving its customers more value for their money and so, for Valentine’s Day they have something up their sleeves, after their 2011 Opening Salvo gimmicks!

Hear this!  Dolores Hotel is giving out a 50% Discount on all their Matrimonial Rooms on February 14, 2011!!!

Yes!  They could have maintained their published rates but instead they are treating their guests who will avail of their Matrimonial Rooms to only half their prices!!!  Who else in General Santos City can do that except the RD Hotels and Resorts group?

As for their flagship resort, Dolores Tropicana Resort Hotel at Cabu, Tambler, there’s gonna be a big party there during that same Valentine weekend!

On February 19, 2011, their RED-HOT ENCOUNTER VALENTINE DISCO will fire-up their guests at the beach from 7pm to 2am.

For sure, this is one of the HOTTEST PARTIES ever to explode in GenSan’s top hotel resort!

For enquiries and hotel reservations to their Valentine offerings, please call Dolores Hotel at (083) 552-4139.

“Showtime” Auditions in GenSan!

Posted by bariles On February - 3 - 2011 3 COMMENTS

Right on the heels of the very successfulStory Gathering” sessions of Maalaala Mo Kaya at the Gaisano Mall of GenSan comes another piece of good news for Kapamilya fans!

This time, it will be the chance of another top-rated show on ABS-CBN to seek out talents here and we are talking about “SHOWTIME!” This is the show where a group of young dancers from General Santos City who proudly named themselves XB GenSan, won its very first talent competition and took home P1,000,000.

If the MMK sessions here generated a record-breaking 750 true-story entries from the people of Soccsksargen, the most in the four areas in the country that the weekly series visited, then it should be expected that “IT’s SHOWTIME” will surely experience the same patronage.

Anyway, the “Showtime” Auditions will be on Sunday, February 6, from 10am to 5pm at the KCC Mall of GenSan Events and Convention Center.

To join, here are the simple mechanics:

  1. Form a group of 10-25 members.
  2. The group can sing, dance or a combination of both.

The groups which will pass the initial screening might have to go to Manila to prove their worth.  We are not really sure here but whoever gets chosen and wins “It’s Showtime” just like the “XB GenSan” dancers did, will surely cement General Santos City’s reputation as the “Home of Champions“.

Star Power – The Final 5 @ KCC Mall of GenSan

Posted by bariles On February - 2 - 2011 1 COMMENT

If you have been regularly following the ongoings of Sharon Cuneta‘s weekly show on ABS-CBN, SHARON, then you must have noticed that it has been transformed for the past 3 months or so into a venue for a talent competition called STAR POWER – The Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar.

The ploy obviously did more good to the Megastar’s only TV outing by increasing its audience share, according to reports.  Week after week, fans and supporters of the pretty and talented young Sharon-wanna-bees who slug it out through their performances tune in to find out if their idols are still up there or have been eliminated.

Now nearing its final stage, only 5 of the more than 50 hopefuls remain – and the even better news is, they are coming to GenSan for a Mall Show at the KCC Events and Convention Center on February 11, 2011!

The five finalists  Angeline, Akiko, K-La, Krissel and Monica will be taking turns performing for this FREE SHOW and letting us witness the very reasons why they have survived this far.

So if you want to hear and watch them belt out their champion pieces, make sure you will be there for their mini-concert at the KCC Mall of GenSan before 6pm on Friday, February 11, 2011.

For information on how to get reserved seats to the Star Power – the Final 5 Show, please call the Information Hotline of KCC at (083) 554-5555.
