Sox Bloggers feature on GMA News Channel now on video

03/13/2011 by bariles in GenSan News with 7 Comments - 625 Views

Just when we were thinking that it might never push through after the cancellation of its first airing date which we announced last week, the GMA News Channel feature on the Soccsksargen Bloggers was finally aired last night, March 12, 2011 on Balita Pilipinas hosted by Arnold Clavio!

The original segment was in Cebuano and reported on GMA TV-8 GenSan by Michael Carbon.   This time though, it was GenSan’s senior reporter Jennifer Solis who related how the Sox Bloggers have been advocating making Soccsksargen’s Tourism Potentials known all throughout the world and how succesful they have been so far.

Here is the video from GMANEWS.TV.

With this kind of exposure, the Soccsksargen Bloggers could only expect an increase in awareness of South Central Mindanao’s natural riches, robust economy, and warm, hospitable, hard-working and driven champions of a people which make up all the ingredients to making it the country’s newest prime tourist destination!

Bariles wishes to thank his Soccsksargen Bloggers for always heeding the call to blog about their beloved region and blog good.  He is specially grateful to the co-founders of the Sox Bloggers who met one day in February 2008 to light the spark which ignited the blogging revolution in Region 12 – Bro. Vince Celested FMS, Hector Minoza, Ariel Lalisan, Job Oberio and Mark Aethen Agana.

Credit also goes to his most current crop of very active members – his brother Orman Manansala, co-administrator of SoxBloggers.com Alexis Chua, Donna Mae Congson, Jose Laurence Erojo, Shiela and Ric Dumalay, Rosilie and Arnel Lim, Lynette Gallinero, Cidz Bascon, Hannah Garchitorena, Michelle Solon, Rabsky Villanueva, Gay Carrillo, Cathy Bolodo, Xyrilloid Landicho, Jinky Borela, Dr. Remo Aguilar, Nanardx, Ariel Marco Oclarit, Dimple Dulay, Joana and Paul Lapore and  others whose blog posts on developments in the region, have managed to largely dominate Google Engine Searches Page Results and paint a more positive image of South Central Mindanao.

Of course, the Sox Bloggers wouldn’t be where they are now without the priceless assistance and support for their projects of esteemed bloggers from other cities and regions – the Mindanao New Media Group, the Cagayan de Oro Bloggers, the Zamboanga Bloggers, the Luzon and Visayas-based bloggers who have concocted wonderful blog posts of their visits to Soccsksargen (you know who you are).

And to GMA TV-8 GenSan for making this feature possible, especially the ISYU KARON staff, for making us look and sound good on TV…

Sa kaninyong tanan, DAGHANG SALAMAT!
