AirPhil Express flies to GenSan soon!

03/22/2011 by bariles in GenSan News with 34 Comments - 8,438 Views

First, it was only Philippine Airlines doing the GenSan-Manila-GenSan route since time immemorial.  A few years back, Air Philippines came into the picture followed by Cebu Pacific.  Then when Air Philippines went into restructuring itself and rested, Cebu Pacific upped its exposure, offering two flights to and from Manila daily!

That makes it three flights out of GenSan to Manila and back up to now.

But when October 20, 2011 comes, make that FOUR FLIGHTS because the rejuvenated Air Philippines, now known as AirPhil Express will be back!

So effective that day, AirPhil Express will fly to General Santos City to Manila everyday at 5:15am and will arrive in GenSan at 7:00am.  The flight back to Manila will be at 7:30 and its arrival there will be at 9:15am!

Right now, the official AIRPHIL EXPRESS WEBSITE is accepting advanced bookins for the Manila-GenSan-Manila route at P1,864 per pax.

Although quite pricey compared to Cebu Pacific, it comes with a 15-kilogram baggage allowance!

With this development, expect the plane fares for the Manila-GenSan-Manila route to settle at their lowest soon!  That of course should make every South Central Mindanao frequent flyer very, very happy!

Good to know pero masyadong maaga I expect late in the afternoon why they want all morning flight. PAL pa rin ako kasi malaki ang eroplano and proud to board the plane when announcement is on…. tapos makikita nila ang laki ng eroplano papuntang gensan….hahahahahahahha pero yun nga lng pagbaba mo ng airport sa gensan ang lawak at maganda kaso pagpasok sa airport building ngeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

This is great indeed! But what about night flights? Sana may mag ooperate na ng late night flights para sa mga OFWs…

Make it four flights to Manila every M-W-F-Sa comes March 28,2011…

Cebu Pacific will resume flights 5J 997/998 this summer season until June 15,2011…

5J 997 Departs Manila at 1450H arrives GenSan at 1640H
5J 998 Departs GenSan at 1710H and arrives Manila at 1900H

A total of three Cebu Pacific flights to Manila every M-W-F-Sa….

More CEBU-Gensan and VV flights din sana.. Ang hirap kasi kung mag via DAVAO…

  5. white knight03/23/2011 at 10:49 AMReply

Yeah masyadong maaga talaga. But on the contrary to those who have business meetings, trials in court, emergencies, etc. this is really good news for them. Sana mag open pa ang Airphil Express nang ibang routes that were not serve by PAL & Cebu Pac as what I have suggested in my previous comments in the other week.

Welcome back again Airphil Express to GenSan and wishing you all the success!

  6. Minmani03/23/2011 at 2:43 PMReply

Wow, that’s really affordable. Is there Gen-san Tacloban route?

  7. kako choco03/23/2011 at 7:35 PMReply

@minmani.. there is no gensan-tacloban flight, same with gensan-iloilo route. they should offer at least one flyt to any of this routes.

hoping airphil express makes it this time! yes, why dont they offer late afternoon flight or early evening flight? gensan airport can accommodate evening flights..

airphil express should offer a peso fare for a limited number of seats just like what cebu pacific is doing on lean months to call attention and to inform the public that theyre back!

and why on Oct 20 and not on May 15 or a week before school opening?

anyway good luck to them and we welcome them back!

@kako choco, I am certain that as soon as AirPhil Express resumes its flights to GenSan, the PISO FARE promo and other fare discount offerings will soon be a reality for their airlines. Watch out for it!

The time sked is very ideal for people who wants to be in Manila early. No need to go to Davao to catch an early flight. This is good news indeed.

Woe to all Generals and people of Socsksargen who do not patronize their own airport.

ey bariles, actually right now gensan has 3 CEB flights to mla and vice versa. i don’t know if this is just their provisioning for summer, but if this wil continue then we hav a total of 5 daliy flights to mla from gsc and vice versa (including pal) come this october when airphil express starts its operation. the 3rd daily flight of ceb to mla from gsc is at 5:10pm. it’s a dream come true for me. to my surprise, i just learned it today and was amazed. pero bitin padin, sana ginawa nalang nilang kahit 7pm man lng.. hehek..

  13. evan parreñas04/08/2011 at 7:03 PMReply

but i can’t really find justice to the 40 million initial funding for the suppose renovation of our airport facility. i frequent dvo airport. just this year i took a pal flight from our airport to mla and was expecting sumhow it’s better but it was a very big disappointment. do u happen to know if the 81 million aditional funding from dotc wil stil be cuming?

Kelan naman ang ZestAir from Manila-Gensan? Mas mura kasi ang ZestAir at bago naman mga planes nila.

Sa Gensan Airport naman, bakit di nila magaya ang Iloilo Airport na pang World Class ang dating.

  15. White Knight04/15/2011 at 1:00 PMReply

Its our dream Generals that our airport will soon be like this…

Siempre MANILA & CEBU airports are exceptional in terms of facitilites, traffic so on and so forth.

@ OFW Qatar. Agree talaga ako sayo, bakit nga ba? bakit?

    By October 7,2011

Cebu Pacific will be launching it’s regular third daily service from Manila to GenSan. To compete directly with AirPhil, Cebu Pacific scheduled it’s new daily flights early in the morning..

  20. Toinks06/20/2011 at 9:47 PMReply

Welcome back Airphil Express! I hope you can bring back GES-ILO-GES link soon. kahit 3x a week na muna.

If you have early morning flight, sana meron din kayong night flight.

  21. Toinks06/20/2011 at 10:00 PMReply

bakit ititigil ng cebu pacific ang late afternoon flight nila? mahina ba pax load?…I really dont think so. Sanag ginawa na lang nilang regular ang late afternoon flight and move it to later time, say like 8.00pm para yung mga business people na balikan ang lakad may flight pa silang masasakyan pabalik ng manila. ok rin yung tatapatan nila ang APX sa umaga but please dont stop the night flight.
