FREE Wifi from Yellow Bus Line buses!

05/23/2011 by bariles in Tech News with 32 Comments - 2,763 Views

Bariles just talked to Mr. Olimpio Par, a senior officer of Soccksargen’s oldest transportation firm, Yellow Bus Line Inc. and confirmed something that has been on some Facebook updates for a week already – they will be offering FREE WIFI INTERNET connection on their Premiere Buses!

“This way, businessmen and and other users of wifi-enabled devices could easily access the internet to check on their email or update their status on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites even while on the move, ” according to an enthusiastic Mr. Par.

Currently,  only Aircon Bus #4 which travels the GenSan-Koronadal-Isulan route and vice versa has been equipped with the FREE WIFI Internet connection.  According to Mr. Par, they are still on the process of monitoring the performance of PLDT’s signal all throughout the trip before they roll out this service totally in June 2011.

Bariles will be personally riding YBL Aircon bus #4, one of the units of their their newest fleet this afternoon along with other bloggers to try out the wifi connection from GenSan to Koronadal themselves.  For sure, they will be making a series of Speed Tests along the way.

Watch out for their update regarding the Free Wifi Internet Connection of Yellow Bus Line in a follow-up post!

But for now, we could only thank the management of Yellow Bus Line, Inc. for levelling up on their services and giving the riding public of South Central Mindanao something to look forward to each time they ride one of their Premiere aircon buses.  And if this FREE-WIFI-Internet -Connection service extends to their GenSan-Davao route, guess who won’t be sleeping next time along the three-hour trip to the Durian Capital?  :)

Our hats off to  you Yellow Bus Line!

Thanks to markstopover_002′s for the photo of YBL’s newest bus above from his Flickr account.

Yep, the first time I took a wi-fi bus was in Abu Dhabi just 2years ago. Its good to know na meron na rin ganito sa Soscsksargen.
Im glad they used this for their inter-socsksargen routes.

  13. WINGED_ROTOR05/26/2011 at 5:41 PMReply

  14. Toinks05/26/2011 at 11:43 PMReply

I hope our LGUs will consider this.

  15. ariel05/29/2011 at 12:06 PMReply

hala pag matuloy na to pagpasok ng bagong players for sure magkakarerahan ang mga to para ipakita whos who on the road at mabilis sa publiko, little people who drive in their tiny cars (jazz) like me might get squeezed like grape sa national highway natin sa sobrang kitid dahil 2 lanes lang baga eh sobrang hina ko pa naman magdrive, because i enjoy the scenery while driving to and from Davao, hahaha,

but in fairness sana matuloy ang wifi sa YBL, pa lumevel up na talaga tayo mga generals!!

  16. fahdingding05/30/2011 at 8:14 AMReply

We need a DIVERSION ROAD para daanan ng mga BUSES nato para ma – unclog ang traffic sa national highway….

@Jepoy: Davao – Gensan fare (P250 Aircon) then Gensan to Marbel fare (P70 – 80 for Mabuhay and Premiere Classes respectively aircon)

    Thus: DAVAO – KORONODAL = P320 – 330 AIRCON.

  17. ariel05/31/2011 at 8:05 AMReply

fahdingding- exactly, its about high time na magkakaroon na tayo ng diversion road gaya ng sa Digos, ..masyado na kasing traffic ang nat. highway natin dito bumper to bumber na ang mula gaisano hanggang mcdo kakaloka na tuwing rush hours, tas sisingitan ka pa ng mga pasaway na tricycle at habal habal, minsan kinikilabutan ako para sa car ko dahil sa sobrang lapit nila feeling ko magagasgas ang gilid ng sasakyan ko ang mahal pa naman patanggal ang gasgas ngayon nakakaloka talaga…

    • bariles05/31/2011 at 11:46 AMReplyAuthor

@ariel, malapit nang matapos ang diversion road from katangawan to apopong. And from what I’ve learned, this is a priority project of the Regional Development Council XII, where Mayor Darlene Custodio is the Chairperson.

  18. Toinks05/31/2011 at 11:24 PMReply

What about if these buses enter the city using the circumference road and that they have to go to the city terminal which is located in brgy. dadiangas north? would these mean that these buses will have to use the Mabuhay road from the circumference road in going to city terminal? if so, magiging busy ang mabuhay road. wowoweee!

  19. fahdingding06/01/2011 at 7:13 AMReply

    Then… karapat – dapat i – clap clap ‘to…
Our diversion road can provide two positive effects:

    1. SAFETY TO MOTORIST: to divert traffic and unclog the national Highway…
    2. This Diversion road can spur economic development on that part of our city…

GOD BLESS this project… Ok lang nahuli tayo importante nandito na!

  20. fahdingding06/01/2011 at 7:20 AMReply

P.S. 4 lanes ba diversion road natin Sir BARILES?

    • bariles06/01/2011 at 11:11 AMReplyAuthor

@fahdingding, two lanes pa lang. :)

  21. fahdingding06/01/2011 at 4:36 PMReply

    Thanks KUYA! :)

  22. ariel06/01/2011 at 11:54 PMReply

that good news sir, but two lanes only? but i foresee na over time gagawin din tong 4 lanes, alangan namn 2 lanes lang forever e di parang eng eng din kung sino man ang may idea nyan….

  23. Mr. Bin06/06/2011 at 9:25 AMReply

  24. Toinks06/06/2011 at 4:56 PMReply

@Mr.
