SM City General Santos to open wider and better San Miguel Street soon!

Posted by bariles On August - 31 - 2011 9 COMMENTS

What used to be just a small sidestreet linking Jose Catolico Avenue and Santiago Boulevard few knew as San Miguel Street is soon staging a major debut after months of expansion and improvement by SM City General Santos or simply, SM GenSan.

See SM City GenSan Map by clicking here.

After securing ownership to the small parcel of land at the J. Catolico end of the road, owned by SOCOTECO II, the contractors of SM City GenSan started widening and rebuilding San Miguel Street to make it worthy as the main road of the frontage of the very much-anticipated construction in this part of the Philippines.

See old article of leasing enquiries in SM City GenSan by clicking here.

Yesterday, Bariles saw vertical tarps hanging on the street light posts along the now widened road.

On closer look, here is what it says….

Other than telling us that it is opening the whole stretch of San Miguel Street to the riding public soon, seems like as early as now, SM City General Santos, which is still set to operate on February 2012,  is announcing to the world that it does things better!

Would the other malls of GenSan take this sitting down?

Abangan ang susunod na kabanata.

Taga-GenSan ka kung… The Paraguay Revelations

Posted by bariles On August - 22 - 2011 18 COMMENTS

To drum up more interest in the upcoming 2011 Tuna Festival, thanks to Republic Magazine‘s Ralph Layco and City Mayor’s Office’s Egai Cadiente, a series of short videos were recently released to the public featuring General Santos City’s gay icon, “Miss Paraguay” or simply “Paraguay“.

“Paraguay” who was named by her adoring “fans” (Bariles included) after the country where most Miss Universe winners hail from,  is a common sight along the city’s major streets, royally walking queen-like, her 6-foot tall frame garbed in the most colorful costumes ever with her hair dyed in the brightest orange, green, blue or whatever tickles her fancy.

Whenever there are festivals, “Paraguay”, due to her height, literally stands out from among the crowds and usually causes a commotion each time she does her short funny routines, by either shouting witty outrageous remarks in Cebuano or play-acting for her instant audience.  Needless to say, her being funny, irreverent, unpredictable and colorful makes Miss Paraguay, truly a gay icon of GenSan!

Here are the videos featuring GenSan’s very own Miss Paraguay:  Taga-GenSan ka kung…. The Paraguay Revelations!

Video #1: Paraguay

Video #2: Shamcey Supsup

Video #3: Pacquiao

Video #4: Tuna

Ikaw, taga-GenSan ka ba?  Taga-GenSan ka, kung-i-LIKE mo ito sa baba!
