GenSan News Online Mag is 4 Years Old!

I, Bariles is pleased to announce that my labor of love, the blog which you, generals visit most often on a regular basis than any other blog, is turning FOUR on November 8, 2011!

Yes!  That’s four eventful years for GenSan News Online Mag!  During these past 48 months, I have written a total of over 1,400 blog posts/articles which were visited 1.64 million times and generated more than 18,370 comments!

This means that 1,400 blog posts in 1,460 days (4 years) translates to an output of about 1 blog post a day for me! Whoa!

Aside from the Lord Almighty to whom I am eternally grateful for giving me the chance to do this,  I would have not lasted this far without the encouragement and encouragement of course, from my faithful readers.  That means you, my friend.

Without you liking, recommending and sharing my blog posts to your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Plurk, etc. or your email list, this blog could not have reached this milestone at all.

Special mention goes to my subscribers, now numbering almost a thousand, who regularly receive updates through their email each time I publish a new article. If you want to be updated like them, then just enter your email address below.

To my talented Blog Doctor Erwin, I can only offer you unlimited snacks and coffee and take-outs but of course, you have done more for my blog the past few weeks than all these freebies combined.  Thank you for my blog’s crispier look!  I salute you, Master!

To my uber-generous landlord, who until recently has provided me unlimited wifi access at home so that I can blog from there anytime I want, I owe you all this and more!  You are truly an angel of a brother, Orman!

And to all the people, bloggers and non-bloggers alike whom I have personally encountered all throughout the past four years and have more or less, enriched me and my blogging “career”, a million kisses and hugs to you.  You know who you are!  :)

Bariles is a Filipino word for “Tuna”, the primary source of income of the people of General Santos City which hosts 6 of the Philippines’ 8 tuna canneries and more than 80% of its tuna processing plants.

The city boasts of the only “Tuna Festival” in the world celebrated every September 5 in commemoration of its charterhood anniversary.

Bariles is also the alias of this blog's author who would like nothing than to write about his beloved city by the bay and share it with his kababayans from all over.

Aside from being a blogger, Bariles is a Google Map Maker enthusiast, the Convenor of the annual Blogfest Soccskargen, the organizer of the SEX Tour for Bloggers and the co-founder & self-proclaimed mother hen of the Soccsksargen Bloggers. His daytime job? Media Affairs Officer of the highest office of the city.
