I was at the Robinsons Night Market last Sunday night and boy, was I surprised!
It was past 9pm then but the place, right at the area emcompassing the car park across the Main Entrance of Robinsons Place GenSan, was still teeming with people, some shopping for bargains and some, like us trying out the servings of a few of the food booths there.
Earlier that evening, a local band provided the entertainment for the night shoppers and the organizers, led by maverick businessman RONALD VELASQUEZ promised that this will go on nightly until the 27th of February.
Robinsons Night Market features a variety of suppliers and sellers of different choices in fashion and food aside from the regular fare of the restos in the Al Fresco strip.
I especially loved Siomai Lab Dimsum and stayed at their stall for about 30 minutes, savoring their 3 kinds of delicious and very affordable SIOMAI, before moving on to the other stalls.
The Robinsons Night Market is the first flea market outside of the Oval Plaza I have ever been to in a long while and judging from the throngs supporting it, the Night Market era in General Santos City has indeed begun.
The Robinsons Night Market is up and open from 1pm until 1am and will be serving the shopping needs of the people of GenSan until Monday, February 27, 2011. See you there!
