SM City GenSan’s Food Tenants unveiled (update)

SM City General Santos‘ opening is the most anticipated happening in the Tuna Capital not only for the people of Soccksargen but for the neighboring regions as well, considering that it’s touted to be the SM Group’s largest mall in Mindanao.

Initial reports indicated that it was due to open earlier this year but that has since moved to July AUGUST 2012.

With that being just a few weeks from now, we are pleased to give you SM City General Santos‘ partial list of food tenants or dining establishments which are locating inside the mall.

Here they are, according to their category:

COFFEE SHOPS:   Cafe France, Starbucks (opening Aug 2012), Coffee Club 101, Bo’s Coffee, Cafe Amoree (NEW)

FILIPINO RESTAURANTS:  Congo Grille, Antonio’s Grill, Krabby Patty Crabs & Steaks, Ranchero’s Grill

ASIAN RESTAURANTS:  Tong Yang Shabu-shabu, Mandarin Tea Garden, Grab A Crab, Little Bangkok, ChowKing, Sumo Sam (NEW), Karate Kid (NEW)

CHICKEN RESTAURANTS:  Max’s Restaurant, Tatak Nadie’s Chicken, Mang Inasal, KFC, Classic Savory

PIZZA PARLORS:  Giacomino’s, Pizza Hut, Greenwich

CAKES/BREADS/ETC.:  Red Ribbon (full resto), Goldilocks (full resto), Aunt Ludi’s Bakeshoppe, BreadTalk, Dunkin’ Donuts, Mister Donuts

BURGERS/OTHERS:  Razon’s, Jollibee, McDonalds

    I believe a Vegan or health food restaurant would be a good idea. Foreign ,or 1st world visitors are especially interested in that kind of cuisine

    Im happy dahil mag ka breadtalk na tayo dito fave ko to mga bread nila its my bisyo sa SM the Block na magcoffee minsan ginagawa ko buy ako ng bread sa kanila tapos dinadala ko sa krispy kreme at don ko nilalantak in full view hahaha but of cors naman mag order naman daw ako ng coffee sa kanila, minsan bitbit ko breattalk at papasok sa coffee beans and tea leaf don ko lalamunin to with their nice coffee…kaya wala sila say sa akin dahil tinatarayan ko sila ng “I want somethng thats salty tatamis ng mga donuts at pastries nyo i dont wanna die of diabetes” magtatalak daw ba ako sa world class donut ng kk and pastries ng coffee beans hahaha o di ba nakalusot ako …diskarte ko yan parati hahaha

    Wow a lot of restos!!! How about apparels? i hope SM Gensan can entice more tenants or it will end up like Robinsons… and it is not remote considering the personality of the leasing manager, a certain Genevive who is alien in gensan, neophyte but arrogant and very condescending. KCC leasing in charge is a lot more tenant – friendly, open minded and accommodating.

    Among the enumerated shops, I’m happiest with Bread Talk. I hope there’s Sbarro, Yellow Cab and Subway though. :) Still excited! :D

    Yayy! Finally, the glorious pantry of BreadTalk will be in town. Amen to Manny’s suggestion! A Vegan/ Vegetarian resto would be a good investment since a lot of people are becoming health conscious nowadays. And it would be the first vegan shop in the city.

    Missing the food shops that we have in Manila. Born and raised in Manila. I Was looking forward of having some of the shops we have there, now that I am permanently based in Gen San. Want SM Gen san to have YELLOW CAB! SBARRO! COFFEE BEAN AND TEA LEAF! DULCINEA! KRISPY KREME! TOKYO TOKO! WENDY’S! BURGER KING! BANANA LEAF! AVENETTO! ITALIANNIS! SUBWAY! FIGARO! CALIFORNIA PIZZA CHICKEN! CONTI’S! DAIRY QUEEN! MR. KEBAB! KENNY ROGERS! FRENCH BAKER! PANCAKE HOUSE! REYES BARBEQUE! SEATTLE’S BEST! TACO BELL! TERRIYAKI BOY! JOHNNY ROCKETS! AMICI!     Yellow Cab would sound great. Sbarro and Brooklyn too. Yakimix, A. Veneto, Hap Chan and Old spaghetti house are one of my favorites so I hope there could be one too. Wait, Gerry’s grill, North Park and Giligans too. :)

    It would be nice if they also have PAOTSIN! I always order their hainanese rice & shark’s fin dumpling. I love it!

The city boasts of the only “Tuna Festival” in the world celebrated every September 5 in commemoration of its charterhood anniversary.

Bariles is also the alias of this blog's author who would like nothing than to write about his beloved city by the bay and share it with his kababayans from all over.

Aside from being a blogger, Bariles is a Google Map Maker enthusiast, the Convenor of the annual Blogfest Soccskargen, the organizer of the SEX Tour for Bloggers and the co-founder & self-proclaimed mother hen of the Soccsksargen Bloggers. His daytime job? Media Affairs Officer of the highest office of the city.
