SM City General Santos officially opens August 10

Now, there is no denying it – the most awaited mall opening in Mindanao will definitely push through next month.  And just as we blogged about it on an earlier post (read it by clicking here), SM City General Santos will surely open its doors to the public on AUGUST 10, 2012.

SM City GenSan has been touted as SM’s largest mall project in Mindanao and the biggest investment project in the Tuna Capital ever. Its opening date has been a favorite guessing game among the locals since it was first announced that it will open in February 2012.

The sight of its imposing structure at Santiago Boulevard for the past year or so is a bitter pill that has to be swallowed by equally aggressive local player KCC Mall of GenSan and the formidable Gaisano Mall.

Both malls are expected to come out with counter offensive moves now that the news of SM City’s official opening date is out.

And now that it is surely opening in a few weeks time, expect the whole of South Central Mindanao to start planning to converge at the Home of Champions to see for themselves and experience the “favorite shopping city” right here.

As SM says in its banner:  ”A new SM City rises in General Santos taking shopping, dining and entertainment to the next level.”   Taray!

NOTE:  On August 9, 2012, SM City GenSan will hold its BLESSING in the presence of its owners, the Sy Family, company bigwigs and visitors from all over the country.
