SM City General Santos to be blessed today

I am getting ready for the most awaited happening at the Tuna Capital today, August 9, 2012, and that is the blessing of the biggest mall in the island – SM City General Santos!

At exactly 1:00 pm, the doors of the gigantic mall will open to invited guests from all over the country and will be welcomed by the members of the Sy Family, headed by son, Hans Sy.  I do not have word yet if family patriarch, Mr. Henry Sy, Sr. himself will be able to make it since this is one of his “good feel” projects, according to my source.

Assisting the owners are all of SM Group of Companies officers who will also be welcoming the bigwigs of their tenant stores, their suppliers (causing a hotel room shortage in GenSan), plus government officials and practically, the movers and shakers of GenSan’s economy.

Luck of all lucks, I myself got an invite and this is how it looks…

At 1:00pm, I and members of my group, the Soccsksargen Bloggers will be afforded a tour of the SM Supermarket by their VP’s.

This will be followed by a Mass at their huge atrium.  Then the ceremonial ribbon-cutting commences with GenSan City Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio, Representative Jun Acharon of the first district of South Cotabato.

After that, the different flagship establishments of SM will also be blessed – Watsons, SM Cyberzone, SM Store (Department), SM Cinema (including an advanced screening at 5:30 of Bourne Legacy), etc including the mall’s other tenant stores and food outlets.

It will definitely be a grand time for the invitees of the Blessing who will be the first batch of outsiders who will experience and witness the different concept and new look that the Sy Family adapted on SM City GenSan, unlike any other of their existing edifices.

Well, what more can I say but, finally the long wait is over!   SM City is definitely here.

GenSan, you’re really on a roll!
