SM City GenSan opens doors to public today! (Photos of Blessing here)
Yesterday afternoon, SM City GenSan was finally blessed, along with its various flagship and tenant stores amidst a festive, celebratory atmosphere which lasted way into the night.
GenSan City Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio, Congressman Jun Acharon and Vice Mayor Shierlyn Banas Nograles led the ribbon-cutting ceremonies performed in all of SM’s major establishments which took them from the ground floor up to the 3rd floor.
MAYOR DARLENE ANTONINO CUSTODIO LEADS IN THROWING CEREMONIAL COINS TO THE GUESTS OF SM CITY GENSAN’S BLESSING ON AUGUST 9, 2012. WITH HER WERE MR. HANS SY, CONGRESSMAN JUN ACHARON AND VICE MAYOR SHIERLYN NOGRALES, LOT OWNERS THE SALAZAR FAMILY AND OTHER SM MANAGERS.
Other notable local personalities were Congressman Manny Pacquiao who came with fab wife Jinkee and Mommy Dionisia, Sarangani Governor Migs Dominguez, Vice-Governor Steve Solon and GenSan City Councilors Meg Santos, Nep Natividad, Lulu Casabuena, Ed Leyson, Ric Atendido, Dom Lagare, among others.
An advanced screening of “The Bourne Legacy” was attended by about 500 of SM’s guests, many of whom had to fly in from Manila (tenants, SM managers, suppliers, distributors, etc).
Everyone was busy shuttling between the three floors of the mall, with most of the ready stores conducting their own blessing ceremonies. Food and drinks were aplenty and lots of freebies and discounts were offered by the stores which have opened and started selling!

The structure is huge! Two scenic elevators! I forgot how many escalators were there. There are two activity centers at the ground floor divided by a sky bridge between them. A convention center is still being finished at the 3rd floor and it should be bigger than the KCC Activity and Convention Center, according to an insider.
THE DANCING STAFF OF SM SUPERMARKET AND THEIR BATTLECRY “AT YOUR SERVICE”
SM supermarket is one shopper’s paradise! Clean, hygienic and with lots of Bonus Paks/brands, it will give KCC Supermarket really stiff competition. It is actually a Hypermarket since it sells Furniture, Appliances, Toys and other non-food items. This one is hard to top!

Nice to see big shopping malls like SM in Gensan…pero sana last na ito na big buildings kasi magiging congested na ang city..I still like a simpe & peaceful surroundings..;)

masasabi ko lng,,dapat maumpisahan na ng ayala ang mega projects nya sa gensan,,d rest will follow lyk starmall of manny villar,,hhmmmm maybe mp mall of manny pacquaio???

In my opinion, outside Manila, Baguio & Cebu, our “SM City General Santos” stands out. Unique, balance and elegant ang design compared to other malls in the Philippines. Truly been planned before it was constructed. I would sincerely say our SM is one the best malls in the Philippines and perhaps in the world. Truly world class ang design niya. Congrats to all of us Generals and thanks to the SM management for giving us this great mall.
