Kris Aquino in GenSan this week!

Queen-of-all-Media and Presidential Sister Kris Aquino has been wanting to visit General Santos City for a long time now.

On her show, KrisTV, she has been mentioning to her showbiz guests who hail from the Tuna Capital like Ms. Philippines Universe Shamcey Supsup, PBB Grand Winner Melai Cantiveros and Kapamilya Drama Prince Gerald Anderson, her desire to visit it one day.  At one point, during an episode at the house of Shamcey, she even revealed that Jinkee Pacquiao also has a standing invitation for her to check out the Home of Champions.

Now, finally, Ms. Kris who incidentally has a new telenovela, Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw over ABS-CBN, has announced on her morning show her impending trip to GenSan to film segments for her KrisTV birthday cum Valentine’s special.

She has even tweeted about it on separate occasions this week.  Check them out…

Clearly, she will be travelling with her perennial co-hosts, the now lovely Melai Cantiveros (who hails from Barangay Calumpang) and Jason Francisco.  As to the question of whether she will be bringing her two sons with her to GenSan, here is her answer…

Hopefully, Ms. Kris Aquino will be brought by Melai Cantiveros to must-visit places in GenSan like the Gen. Santos Fishport where giant tuna are unloaded every morning; the Sarangani Highlands overlooking Sarangani Bay; the historic Plaza Heneral Santos, the Ranchero Grill at SM City (which serves the best baby-back ribs); the new Mount Sabrina Resort owned by the Queen of Tuna Cuisine, Sol Manangquil who could serve her mouth-wateringTuna dishes;  Red Trellis Seafood Garden‘s finger-licking good King Crabs in coco milk; Piyesta KTV Resto Bar and its flaming kurasticks; and the best local chicken barbecue of Nadie’s Chicken. 

Melai could also arrange for Ms. Kris to check out  Grab A Crab’s choices of succulent chinese dishes,  the new Little Bangkok and its exciting spicy drink mixes; the extreme zipline at the 5th Mountain of Balakayo in Barangay Olympog; and, the Tiongson Arcade with its numerous roadside eateries serving barbecue and seafood dishes, including C Bistro, which is operated by Ms. Che Tiongson, former partner of Gov. Chavit Singson.

Of course, any visit to GenSan won’t be complete without Ms. Kris meeting the Chief Executive of the City, Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio, who belongs to the same political party as her brother, President Noynoy Aquino.  

Both are young working mothers of two kids and they could share tips on balancing parenting duties and work.  Now that make up for a cool episode for KrisTV, don’t you think so?

As for me, am just looking forward to a photo with the Ms. Kris Aquino herself since we are both P&G loyalists, with me having worked for the soap and detergent giant for 12 years when I was younger.  If this materializes, then, that would be a another item checked off from my bucket list.
