This time, it is a proposed three-storey commercial building sitting right across the upcoming SM City General Santos and beside the 111-room GreenLeaf Hotel (Click here for report) also in the works, along San Miguel Street.

The announcement billboard mentions the owner as the “PGOC“, short for Pacquiao Group of Companies.  The contractor is JDRC Construction & Supply of Davao while the designing company is D.N. Guevarra Architect and Associates.

From the looks of it, this new Pacquiao Building will be covered by glass panelling on all sides which is quite neat if I may say so.  It will fit right in with the other buildings in progress in what is turning out to be the most valuable commercial area in GenSan!

Somebody from Manny Pacquiao‘s group told us that almost all the spaces in this building have already been rented out to various local doctors for their clinics.  If this is 100% accurate, then we will be seeing the makings of another PolyClinic Building in our midst, this time courtesy of Manny Pacquiao.

From  being a  former promo girl of a famous beauty brand to being the the better half of the richest Pinoy athlete in the world, Maria Geraldine Pacquiao or Jinkee to most of us, has really come a long way.

Astute businesswoman Jinkee (she has her own boutique, skin & beauty clinics, coffee shops, hotels and commercial buildings) has weathered all the storms that came with being the wife of the most famous Pinoy in modern times but she has come out of it, stronger, sexier and prettier than ever.  She has graced the covers and pages of scores of magazines already and in time for her birthday this month, glossy Mega Magazine is featuring her again!

This Mega Magazine cover with Jinkee Pacquiao on it is not without its share of controversies though.  Some say it was heavily photoshopped.  Take a good look at it below.

So what do you think of our birthday girl here?  Fabulous isn’t she?  If you have seen her up close, as I have, you know that she really looks like this in person. What you see is what you get!

First was a convenience store in his old barangay, Labangal.  This was followed by a bigger convenience store along Santiago Boulevard which has already closed shop.

Next were two buildings, christened JMP Building 1 (JMP meaning Jinkee-Manny Pacquiao) at the corner of Osmena South-Champaca and JMP Building 2 at corner of Aparente Avenue and Provido Village.

He has also bought houses for his mother Dionisia, his siblings and a bigger mansion along Salvani Street (Block at Barangay City Heights.  Then there’s the JMP Gymnasium at Barangay Tambler where he holds his cockfight tournaments and where his mother celebrated her birthday party earlier this year.

He has also purchased large parcels of land in Yumang Street (for his radio station) and along the Bula-Lagao Road behind KCC Mall of GenSan (for a large hotel), among other areas within GenSan.

He and wife Jinky has also invested in Team Pacquiao, a novelty store selling all his souvenir items and apparell;  Jinkee’s Fashion World;  Flawless Skin Clinic plus dining and entertainment joints like JMix Resto Bar, Pacman SportsBar, and Blu Gre Coffee Shop; a water refilling station named Pacman and many more.

Right now, Manny and Jinkee are focusing their time and resources in the impending opening of their first foray into the hotel business.  Soon to open is a much bigger mixed-use office-restaurant-and-hotel edifice (which we blogged in June this year) located a stone’s throw away from JMP Building 2 along Aparente Avenue.  Situated right at the corner of Aparente Avenue and Block 1 Dadiangas Heights Subdivision, is Pacquiao’s very own ROAD HOUSE ECONOMY HOTEL.

The hotel is actually located at the back of the building.  The facade will be made available for commercial establishments and offices.

The hotel lobby and office will be along the Block 0 Street, beside the car entrance.  See above photo.

The 2nd floor of the hotel lobby will reportedly house the new office of Manny and Jinkee’s various ventures, all under the umbrella of the Pacquiao Group of Companies.

The two-storey hotel which has two wings, will have 40 airconditioned rooms, all equipped with LCD TV with cable, hot & cold showers, Wi-Fi, plus other modern amenities.

Just recently, Manny Pacquiao’s staff submitted a letter to the Office of the City Mayor of General Santos asking permission to cement the portion of the Block 0 which runs parallel to their hotel.

"THE HALLWAY TERRACE OF THE ROOMS FACING BLOCK ZERO WHICH WILL BE CEMENTED SOON BY MANNY PACQUIAO'S GROUP."

This hotel which is set to open during the first quarter of 2012, is one really good investment of the Pacquiao couple considering that General Santos City is still in dire need of more hotel rooms to be able to fill up the growing number of conventions and conferences being conducted in the city.  And with the numerous guests that the Sarangani Congressman receives regularly, and whom he billets in the city’s various hotel establishments, he might just as well construct his own and save money.

This is basically the reason why the Road House Economy Hotel is just right for that purpose.

The Italian-made yacht cost Manny Pacquiao twenty-five million pesos (P25,000,000.00), which is considered peanuts compared to his earnings from his last victory over Juan Miguel Marquez.  He has also raffled off two-million pesos (P2,000,000.00) during his 33rd Birthday Party two days earlier, on December 17, 2011.

The unveiling of the yacht which was named Sarangani’s Pride, was also timed with its blessing by a Catholic priest and witnessed by Congressman Pacquiao’s friends including Glan Mayor Victor James Yap, Sr., Jinky’s relatives and members of the media.

As news of the event spread nationwide, not a few of our kababayans expressed disappointment at the fact that Manny Pacquiao chose to unveil it less than three days after the disasters which struck Northern Mindanao and parts of Eastern Visayas.

In fairness, Manny Pacquiao slashed 1million pesos from his pork barrel to donate to the Typhoon Sendong survivors.  He has also reportedly ordered his staff to deliver truckloads of relief goods to Northern Mindanao this week. Bravo Manny!

I have misgivings though with this surprise unveiling of his P25million worth of gift to his dutiful wife.  He could have postponed it to a much-later date.

But then again, Manny Pacquiao is Manny Pacquiao!  Either way, he will still get reactions from all over especially on something this expensive.

Compared to the past birthday invites that we saw, this one is elegantly simple, with shades of Gold, Red, Blue and Black and Manny’s name inside a big star similar to the one at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The text at the back of the invitation card for Pacman’s en grande bash states the venue as the cavernous KCC Convention and Events Center at the KCC Mall of GenSan.

You can’t really blame him for his generosity.  Growing up in poverty, he knows how it is to be penniless and poor.

For the umpteenth time, the local government of General Santos City is offering a FREE LIVE BROADCAST of the Pacquiao-Marquez III fight at the GenSan Gym in Barangay Lagao.

They just need to score a ticket similar to the one below…

The City Mayor’s office is once again paying Solar Sports for the rights to air the fight LIVE via their Pay-per-view access as its commitment to the people of General Santos.

Years back, the broadcast fee was only P50,000.  The latest bout that Sarangani Congressman Pacquiao won which was the Pacquiao-Clottey Fight was worth P300,000 already!

Now, based on Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio‘s revealation, the city government is being billed P400,000 to show the FREE LIVE Broadcast of the Pacquiao-Morales III fight to Manny’s townmates!

About 7,000 tickets were distributed to the city’s 26 barangays starting this morning.

For those who were given these tickets to watch the FREE Live Broadcast of the Pacquiao-Marquez III fight at the GenSan Gym, here are some reminders:

1. The gates of the GenSan gymnasium will open as early as 7:00am.
2. Entrance to the gym will be on a first come-first served basis.
3. Drinks, food, firearms, pointed and bladed weapons are not allowed inside GenSan gym.
4. If there is still space inside the gym for more spectators after 9:30am, those without tickets may be allowed inside.

Two huge flat-screened television sets will be provided at the gym’s lobbies to air the Pacquiao-Marquez III fight for those who will not be able to get inside.  This is of course much better than the signals of the Pacquiao-Marquez III FIGHT FREE LIVE STREAMING sites over the internet.

Task Force Champ has been designated by Mayor Darlene Custodio to oversee the peaceful and orderly conduct of this Pacquiao-Marquez III FREE Live Broadcast.

This includes members of the PNP office, the Joint Task Force GenSan, the Civil Security Unit of the local government, Red Cross, City Hospital, Traffic Management Office, the City Sports Development Office, the General Services Office and the City Engineering Office and the City Mayor’s Office.

The cover story, penned by Lawrence Osborne, has the title, Pacquiao, The Godfather.

Osborne, as with the other writers before him, trailed Manny Pacquiao while here in General Santos City, during his sorties in Sarangani Province, and at his showbiz commitments in Manila, often waxing ecstatic about the Congressman.

His article is quite an engaging read although there is nothing in there that has never been reported before, including Manny’s reported desire to run for the Presidency someday.

Playboy Magazine even has this blurb on its cover: Training with the Champ, In the Jungle with Manny Pacquiao. (See below.)

In this Playboy Magazine issue, Manny Pacquiao is profiled by a writer named Kevin Cook who accompanied the Congressman while hobnobbing with his constituents in Sarangani, relaxing in a GenSan coffee shop (which the writer misidentified as “Starbucks“) and training in Baguio City with Freddie Roach.

Cook writes sardonically, especially in describing Pacquiao’s surroundings and the people around him, and the circumstances leading to his victory in politics.  There is nothing here about Manny’s rise to fame that has not already been written by other writers but Cook spins an amusing, unapologetic style that is his own.  His notes on Manny’s lovely wife Jinky are hilarious and the tidbit that the Champ goes sexless for 21 days before a fight, is a gem!

What he does not understand however is the reason why Manny Pacquiao lost in his first try to run for Congress in the first District of South Cotabato.  Thus he writes:  ”Still, he lost to the incumbent, an entrenched politician who is said to have bought the election for the going rate: a bag of rice or 100 Philippine pesos (about $2) per vote.” – relying on something from the  rumor mill which is rather unfair on then Congressman & now GenSan Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio who won handily over Manny that time.

But then, that’s how some foreign writers are.  They come here for a few days, live with us and think that they know more about Philippine politics than we do. Just ask our good friend writer and blogger Edwin Espejo.

On August 1, 2011, Monday, the Sarangani Medical Center will break ground at its corner inside the Sarangani Provincial Capitol compound, Alabel, Sarangani Province.

Below is the picture of the Sarangani Medical Center perspective.

The hospital project will have 200 beds and is aiming to be a tertiary level hospital, the first in the Sarangani Province.  Currently, the Sarangani Provincial Government spends hundreds of thousands yearly to pay for the hospitalization and care of its constituents at the General Santos City Hospital and some other private hospitals.

This Sarangani Medical Center will be administered and run through a Public-Private Partnership Agreement and is undertaken under the DBP Credit for Better Health Care Program.

The hospital facility for the Sarangans which has been the subject of speculation in Pacman land for quite sometime, has just become the first in a series of projects of the new Pacquiao-Dominguez tandem.   Hopefully, it will improve more the lives of their constituents, a promise which they have collectively made when they decided to forget political differences and work together as one.

This is the first time that Manny Pacquiao spoke in straight english in a commercial and we must say, he did just fine!

Just yesterday, while passing through the same route again, he noticed a billboard at the property wall with an artists’ rendition of the project once it’s finished.

He stopped his car, got out and read what’s on the billboard!

Gosh!  It’s another Jinkee and Manny Pacquiao multi-use building project!  But this time, it’s bigger!

The mixed-use development project of the Pacquiao couple consists of a COMMERCIAL BUILDING facing Aparente Street, a separate building at the back for OFFICE SPACES and adjacent to it is an APARTMENT BUILDING.  This is now Manny Pacquiao’s biggest property development project so far in GenSan.  The lot used to be occupied by the GSCIT and belonged to the Morales family way back.

For Jinkee and Manny Pacquiao’s latest investment in General Santos City, they have gotten the services of the team of Civil Engineer Ferdinand Trasmil,  Architect Constancio Pongase and Project Supervisor Jose Angelito Rodriguez.  This team was also involved in the construction of the Pacquiao Gymnasium at Barangay Tambler where just recently Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao celebrated her fabulous 62nd Birthday Party.

Take note that other than this building project, Jinkee and Manny Pacquiao own two more – the much maligned JMP 1 Building along Osmena Street in downtown GenSan where their first BluGre Coffee Shop franchise is located and a few meters down Aparente Avenue, the JMP 2 Building.  Both were designed by Architect Rex Acdal.

Up next for Jinkee and Manny Pacquiao?  Hopefully, their proposed hotel along the Lagao-Bula Road at the former lot occupied by Conlu EcoPark across the SAFI Arcade where Little Dubai is.

We have to hand it over to the couple for putting much of their money in property development in General Santos City.  Aside from helping put GenSan on the map, Manny’s investment projects in the city are likewise very commendable.

Bariles had to join eariler the motorcade for Manny Pacquiao, part of the Hero’s Welcome for the homecoming champion, fresh from his victorious defense of the World Welterweight Title against Shane Mosley in the US.  His plane arrived a little before 6pm and so it was already dusk when he and Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio went up the float prepared to him by the GenSan LGU.

So it was already 8:30pm when Bariles, together with 2010 Mr. GenSan Jenel Labiana and 2010 Ms. GenSan Ghen Mutia arrived at the party at the new Pacquiao Gymnasium, with Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee a few minutes ahead of them.

The whole place was packed with 700-800 people and the group sensing that there was no vacant table left tried to maneuver themselves to the nearest buffet table where there was hardly any food left.  They however managed to score a few bites of whatever was available and situated themselves behind a now empty dessert table.

The program emceed by a very spirited blogger-teacher Joana Lapore of the Soccsksargen Bloggers, started with some lively performances from fire dancers.  Eventually, it was time for Mommy Dionisia in what is a Thalia-inspired look doing a modern latin dance number with matching background dancers.  The beat was so fast that even the spritely 62-year young birthday girl could hardly keep up at times but of course, her adoring friends and guests surely didn’t mind.

There were a couple of other numbers and testimonies from Mommy D’s relatives but the highlight was her Congressman son Manny who took to the microphone and thanked her mom for his and his siblings’ upbringing, among other things.

Then the whole Pacquiao gym was hushed when the initial bars to the song “Bakit” popularized by Imelda Papin, played on the background while Mommy Dionisia now in a resplendent red gown came out onstage, lipsyching to her recorded voice like there was no tomorrow… with the right dramatic gestures and pained facial expressions befitting a spurned lover.  At one point during the song, she even kneeled on the stage! (Note: Papin recently had a concert with Mommy D in GenSan. Read about it by CLICKING HERE.)

Then the moment which the guests and perhaps, the Champ’s mother have been waiting for – Congressman Pacquiao and ravishing wife Jinkee Pacquiao (now visibly slimmer, sexier and less agitated) presenting to Mommy Dionisia a big, heavy orange box with her birthday wish – a HERMES BAG!  It was Jinkee who picked out and shopped for the bag herself reportedly costing almost a million pesosesoses!

Finally it was time for the blowing of Mommy Dionisia’s birthday cake which was as large as a regular plywood and adorned with more than 10 Barbie Dolls, a special request from the celebrant herself!

"MOMMY DIONISIA'S BARBIE BIRTHDAY CAKE! CAN YOU GUESS HOW MANY BARBIE DOLLS THERE ARE?"

But then, Mommy Dionisia‘s happiest moment was when from out of the blue, appeared her co-starrer in the movie “ANG TANGING PAMILYA“, former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada to greet her personally onstage.

After a few more musical numbers from Pacman who sang a duet with his Pacman Band vocalist Madonna Decena and novelty tunes from Max Surban, the much-heralded Argentine Tango number from Mommy Dionisia concluded the evening’s programme.

Mommy D, as she is fondly called these days is set to take centerstage again (just like her past birthdays)and will show to the world that she is indeed A RADIANT SUMMER STAR at 62, according to her simple yet elegant invitation card, delivered inside a blue mesh tied-up in a gold string and adorned with three gold flowers.

Bariles himself was able to talk to Mommy Dionisia at her two-storey mini-mansion in Labangal during the eve of the Pacquiao-Mosley fight where he found out that aside from her usual dance numbers (this time including a mean Spanish Tango), she will also be belting out some Tagalog love songs for her guests and for her son at her birthday party reported to cost Manny some P2,000,000.

He was also shown her  new aqua blue gown designed by a local couturier which will make her look like a blushing debutante.

His son Manny just arrived early this morning of Saturday from the US of A and will be flying in either tomorrow morning or afternoon in time for her party.  Some bigtime personalities have reportedly been invited like Ai-Ai de las Alas and former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, among others and since there is a great deal on flights from various airline companies, even though General Santos City is at the opposite end of the Philippines, we are certain that they will acquiesce to Mommy Dionisia’s invitation.

As for her birthday wish, she would like nothing than the retirement of her son Manny from boxing and focus on his political career.  When asked if she would still want a HERMES Bag, reportedly costing almost a million pesosesoses (!), “Of course, MAGANDANG BONUS na din yan.”

Spoken like a hopeful and understanding mother. But of course, she deserves all the Hermes bags in the world for giving us one of the greatest Filipino sports heroes who has ever lived!

Happy 62 Birthday Mommy D!  The Filipino nation wish you a healthier life ahead of you… and yes, more birthday parties to come!

The office of City Mayor Darlene Antonino Custodio has confirmed to newsmen that instead of the original schedule of his arrival in the morning via PAL, he will be flying in later during the day since he is still set to guest at GMA-7′s Sunday variety noontime show, Party Pilipinas. The bigwigs of GMA will provide him with a private plane.

Just like his last year’s homecoming after his victorious fight against Miguel Cotto, Mayor Custodio will be meeting him at the tarmac of the aiport once it has landed.

Then both will be riding the same float that Ms. Pilipinas-Universe and another general, Shamcey Supsup rode during her motorcade last April 2011.

The route for the motorcade which will start hopefully by 4:30pm is this:  Airport Road (Fatima Highway) – Calumpang Highway – Labangal – Silway – Pedro Acharon Boulevard – Santiago Boulevard – Jose Catolico Avenue – Robinsons Place.

At Robinsons Place, international recording artist Manny Pacquiao will transfer to a private car.  He will then be whisked off to the Sarangani Capitol where a short program awaits him.

Later in the evening, the world’s #1 pound-for-pound boxer will grace the 62nd Birthday Party of his mom, Dionisia Pacquiao at his sparklingly new P30million Pacquiao Gymnasium at Barangay Tambler.

This time, the now Congressman of Sarangani will be facing an American, Shane Mosley who want nothing else than wrest the Welterweight Title Belt from him!

Bariles himself has never missed a Pacquiao fight here at the GenSan Gym.  He loves being in the middle of it all, amongst 7,000 of Pacman’s cheering townmates of the seven-time world boxing champion who feel his every punch and agonize each time he receives a blow from his opponents up there on the huge screen.

You should try being there and it will be one goosebumps-filled but proud day for you.

The GenSan Gym gates will open before 8am so please be at any of the entrances early than that.  These will be closed once the gym reaches 70% of its capacity.  No food and drinks are allowed inside.

Entitled “FIGHTING PRIDE“, this new Pacquiao Theme was written by Filipino-Scottish band, “RAG RAG” and featured Britain’s Got Talent finalist Madonna Decena, who is a Filipina.

The release comes a few months before the much-awaited Pacquio-Margarito Fight in November this year.

Rag Rag Band is composed of Lead Vocalist Glen Ragrag, Drummer Micheal Ragrag, Keyboardist Christopher Ragrag and Guitarist Norbert Ace Gayanilo.

The song was recorded at a Palms Resort studio in Las Vegas last March and launched on the Internet on September1 4, 2010.

At the start of the song is Manny Pacquiao saying these words: : “Deliver me from this fight, to honor You and my country.”

“Fighting Pride” by the way, is produced by Authentik Artists.  As of the moment, this new Pacquiao Theme is only available via download.

One of these Pacquiao-Margario Fight Video promos has just been released recently – FACE OFF: the Pacquiao-Margarito Fight Video Teaser which is a precursor of the 24/7 HBO Specials.

This Pacquiao-Margarito Fight Video Promo features both boxerss together with HBO host Max Kellerman, Manny Pacquaio’s trainer, Freddie Roach seated around a round table.   It starts with Max Kellerman asking Margarito about his suspension from boxing and ends with Freddie Roach making his fearless forecast of the outcome of the fight to Margarito’s face.

Pacquiao was accompanied by his wife Jinkee, his children and his siblings.  His father was also there although there was no sign of his mother Dionisia.

Thirty one year old Congressman Pacquiao in his speech said he will concentrate on improving infrastructure, medical services and peace in order for the next three years.  Although he said that he will continue boxing, he promised to be more effective as a legislator and representative of the country’s 14th most impoverished province.

Notes on Election 2010:

• The first automated elections in history in the country was generally peaceful in Socsargen.
• As early as 6am, voters were waiting outside the gates of the different polling centers.
• Bariles immediately found his precinct through a map posted at the bulletin board of Lagao National High School, Aparente Avenue, Purok Malakas.
• Bariles started lining up for his priority # starting at 8:30 am.  His feet were about to give away two hours after when he finally got a stub which has the number 243 on it written in pentel pen.
• Since it was noon time, he went out for a bowl of batchoy at a nearby carenderia and a bottle of coke.  No food vendors were allowed inside the Lagao National HS except for peanut vendors who were able to sneak in.
• An hour later, he was able to go inside his precinct and cast his vote.  He finished voting after 5 minutes and stayed inside the precinct for a total of 7 minutes only. It was faster than the time he spent during the early days of manual voting.
• When the PICOS flashed “Congratulations!” he felt his heart skip and clapped his hands loudly.  It was such a tiring exercise but all well worth it.
• Despite its flaws, Bariles feels that the first automated elections in the Philippines is heaven-sent!

After getting the assurance from the National Grid Corporation (formerly TransCo) that General Santos City will not experience any power outage or blackout on Sunday, March 14, 2010, GenSan Mayor Jun Acharon immediately decided to push through with the FREE LIVE AIRING on Pay-per-view of the Pacquiao-Clottey Fight at the General Santos City Gymnasium.

At first, the good mayor opted to back out from what has been a tradition in the city to air Manny Pacquiao’s bouts on a giant screen inside the biggest airconditioned gym in Mindanao.  This was after the management of SOCOTECO II, the city’s electric power supplier could not assure him of a brownout-free Sunday when the Pacquiao-Clottey fight will occur.

But with this latest development and assurance from the National Grid Corporation itself, then it’s all systems go for the FREE PAY-PER-VIEW LIVE AIRING of the Pacquiao-Clottey Fight at the GenSan Gym in Barangay Lagao.

Both the local government unit of General Santos and the Office of Congresswoman Darlene Antonino-Custodio are once again joining forces to handle the rights from Solar Sports, to broadcast to more than 10,000 people at the GenSan Gym this FREE PAY-PER-VIEW LIVE AIRING of this Pacquiao-Clottey fight.

No admission tickets will be given out in advanced.

Instead, interested parties may just go directly to the gym, line up at the major entrances as early as 7am on Sunday, March 14, 2010; and wait to be ushered in on a first come, first served basis.

Of course, you have to have a ticket to be allowed in first.  For tickets, approach your BARANGAY OFFICES for information.
