[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n a news report by Ms. Rean Hacosta over TV Patrol Socsargen this afternoon, March 28, 2015, the former Miss Gensan shared a piece of news that is sure to delight the generals!

From her interview with PAL Gensan Manager Fabie Espino,  she reported that PAL will be flying to Gensan from Iloilo and back.  PAL will be offering this route four times weekly begginning on March 29, 2015, this Sunday. Currently, it’s only Cebu Pacific flying from Iloilo to the Tuna Capital.

He explained that this is because a good number of residents of the Soccskargen Area are working or have relatives working in both these countries and this development would make travelling there from this part of the islands will be easier, faster and more economical for them.

Earlier in her report, Ms. Hacosta also mentioned that after the launch of the Gensan-Iloilo roundtrip flights, the Gensan-Cebu roundtrip flights will then be offered likewise.

All these augur well for the upcoming renovation and expansion of the General Santos City International Airport that we blogged about a week earlier.

That will just mean a lot more people flying in and out of the Gensan Airport and more cargo and goods being transported from the South Central Mindanao region in much shorter times to the rest of the Asia soon.

With PAL offering direct flights from Gensan to other countries, would Cebu Pacific and of course, Air Asia Philippines be far behind?

How about you?  What other destinations would you want our local carriers to fly out to from Gensan soon?
