After coming out of Robinsons Cinema last night I noticed that the former area occupied by Smart Communications right across the theaters lobby was open albeit looked different.

Upon closer inspection, I saw a few workers doing some finishing touches on what was obviously  the office of a new tenant and a makeshift stage with a huge backdrop has been set up facing its doors.  Eventually, I realized it’s the new office of the Bureau of Immigration and it’s finally opening today, January 6th via a formal inaugural programme.

BID GenSan
A photo I took last night of the new Bureau of Immigration – GenSan office being prepped up for today’s official opening at Robinsons Place General Santos.

The Bureau of Immigration used to have a Field Office located at the 2nd Floor of the Arcade Building of East Asia Royale Hotel.  With this transfer, foreigners who want to apply for visa extensions or entry visas may now do it at their bigger and more spacious Office at Robinsons.

And yes, for generals wanting to renew, apply for a Philippine passport, the Field Office of General Santos is located just beside the Cinema lobby fronting the new BID office.

Congratulations to Robisnons Place GenSan for bagging the rights to play host to two very important government agencies.  This is truly remarkable and good tactic for Robinsons Place to reclaim its formeri glory.

Bureau of Immigration GenSan is open Mondays to Fridays.  We will be posting their working hours here once we get the info.

Happy 2014 everyone!  Thanks for keeping up with us and our long breaks.  I love you all.
